Hi all, I've been all over the internet looking for advice on PCa and just found this site. There is some great information here and I look forward to joining in conversations. A quick update on why I am here: - Dec 2014 (age 52 years). My lovely wife has for many years suspected I had coeliac disease

10 YEARS
Well this is a post I never EVER thought I would be writing. 10 years today I had my op and my cancer was confirmed with the words 'the prognosis is not good, you probably have a couple of years', delivered at my bedside by my surgeon who I had never seen before and whilst I was on my own recovering

Cannabis can work for RLS
Recently, I was able to get into the
medical
cannabis
program in my state for my spine issues. Was never a user and, frankly, frown upon those that were. That feeling has since changed as I have reaped the benefits of using cannabis on my pain.

Cannabis for Parkinsons and Dystonia
When I asked about whether cannabis would help with Parkinson's, he said they just don't have the medical research to prove it yet because until recently there has been no funding for
medical
cannabis
research in this country.

Gleason Score - Upgrades & Downgrades.
Two new studies below. We are all beyond biopsies for initial diagnosis, but this subject drives me crazy. We all know that PSA has poor specificity for PCa. Over the past 13 years, I have read countless papers showing that a panel of tests (the panels invariably include PSA) do much better. It is clear

Spasms
Just wanted to pass on this news...my husband was getting severe spasms all night long in his legs. We have medical marijuana cards but found out it's $500 an ounce. I decided have him try cbd oil/hemp oil in capsules. For those that don't know its cannabinol/hemp with no thc to make you high. He

prostate cancer patient, just received my first post RP ultra sensitive PSA reading above testing threshold, looking for advice and support
Hello, many thanks in advance. Looking for others that are in my situation or have been in my situation in the past. Ideally would like to find those that have had a non zero low measurable PSA indefinitely for years that have avoided BCR (biochemical recurrence). I have two friends that have been in

I was recently diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer. 62 years old and otherwise in very good shape. I had a radical prostatectomy back in 2014 (Gleason score 8). Everything fine since then and PSA under control (about 0.875). I developed lower back pains in about April and initially sought remedy

This post is prompted by a presentation at the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) meeting yesterday. "To better define the immune landscape of localized prostate cancer, researchers examined 9,393 tumor samples from men who underwent a radical prostatectomy ..." [1] I'll focus on PD-L1 &

Marinol and other cannabinoids
But also realize there's a reason why they aren't pushing Marinol for other conditions that
medical
cannabis
has really become notable for... the other cannabinoids absent in Marinol make a difference, too. A profound one. My best,

I have two sample requests for CBD I need one more. Suggestions please. I read somewhere from the husband of a Parkinson's sufferer who was absolutely singing the praise for medical marijuana but unfortunately I cannot find that particular post to pay more attention. He said that since his wife had

Restless leg relief?
From time to time at bedtime I develop a hollow, twitching feeling in my legs that makes it impossible to sleep or get comfortable. To stop it, I've been taking 200 mg of Gabapentin and that seems to work but I don't want to keep taking it on a daily basis as it causes fatigue and numbness. Also, please

MEDICAL MARIJUANA UPDATE
Hi again everyone. CBD Brothers have requested I email them with my selection for three cannabis oil samples. As I have not had any experience with this type medication before, I would truly appreciate some advice on what I should try. As everyone on this site can testify, we have all suffered severely

Radical Prostatectomy [RP] versus Radiotherapy.
New study below. (Somewhat off-topic, but newly-diagnosed men sometimes seek advice from old-timers.) I find it interesting that the subject has not yet been laid to rest, but there are vocal oncologists who deny that RP gives better survival results. "We analyzed 268,378 men with intermediate-risk

Low testosterone & high-risk prostate cancer
New study below. "... mean free (6.2 vs. 5.2 ng/dL ...) and bioavailable (151 vs. 125 ng/dL ...) testosterone levels were found to be significantly different in men with low-intermediate and high-risk prostate cancer." "Moreover, a significant correlation was found between free, and bioavailable testosterone

Phytanic Acid
Sisira brought the subject up, in the context of red meat. He quotes Dr. Myers" "He says in more than 100 papers in scientific literature that he has read, phytanic acid present in these foods can promote the growth and spread of prostate cancer." & "Dr. Patrick Walsh in his book "Guide to Surviving

Radical prostatectomy & bone oligometastases?
New study below. My RP surgeon told me that his second patient, with lesser cancer than me, was stapled back up after the pathologist found cancer in one of the lymph nodes. I wonder how that man felt when he learned that he still had a prostate. I can't believe leaving it in had a neutral effect on
