NHS London statement on Synnovis ransomware cyber attack
I am posting this using the NHS' own website version - it is covered across news sites as well. It seems it is having a major impact on blood tests - which might immediately affect some members. As well as the rest of the impact. [i]

Alcoholic cirrhosis Hepatic encephalopathy
Partner is currently coming round from being sedated due to Hepatic encephalopathy. The doctors say he is also withdrawing from alcohol. The upsetting thing is one of the first words he said to me when I went to visit was to tell me to f off.. I've since been back to visit and it's mostly abuse I get

Best alternative PET for PSMA negative PCa
Asking for a friend. He was diagnosed 3 years ago with high risk high volume (Gleason 3+5) PCa. Treated with EBRT + LDRBT + ADT (18 months). His PSA was undetectable but is now rising (3+) but PSMA-PET was negative, even in the prostate - implying PSMA non-avid cancer. What would be the best non-PSMA

Turmeric Curcumin: BCM-95 or Meriva - Maybe Neither
I switched my Turmeric to BCM-95 some years ago. I had read an article “researchers believe that the ar-turmerone derivatives... can be used as new therapeutic agents for Parkinson’s disease (a). The search was on to find a supplement with turmerone. I found BCM-95 had some essential oils in it. I asked

Looking for advice to deal with pain and stiffness related to AIH.
I was recently signposted as this may be my diagnosis by a GP and I'm awaiting a consultant appointment with Rheumatology as appose to a liver specialist despite me questioning this. I have no inflammation markers on my bloods but I do on my antibodies and smooth muscle blood counts which his why it's

ADT failure
We saw my Dad's MO on 5/23. Over the course of 4 weeks my dad's PSA moved from 1.46 to 2.14, He said we need to be on Zytiga for three months before we can deem it a failure, but just like Xtandi, it appears my dad had limited help with it. We have talked about the next steps, chemo and pluvicto. My

Time to adjust my course, any suggestions?
Psa is on a steady increase again. I was taking extandi for a year up until 11 /23 over that yr my Psa had dropped from 29, 11/22 to 1.4 ,11/23. I was having significant SEs, brain fog mainly so I decided to switch to nubeqa (daralutimide) even tho there was a steady drop in PSA on extandi. Nubeqa

Liver Cancer
I was diagnosed with liver cancer by my consultant yesterday (Friday 31st May 2024). They are going to take a liver biopsy in a couple of weeks as I am going on holiday next Monday. Then once this is done I will be having radiography. I am going to be positive and hopefully fight this all the way

pain in left side
Hi have Chorrosis of the liver and have been good up until today. I have felt discomfort in my left side and it goes up the left side of my back to my neck. I did contact my local gp who is going to do bloods on Tuesday as there extremely busy. Will it have something to do with my diagnosis? Or anyone

Nicotine…… a complete no-brainer.
Update most don’t know about nicotine, you should. Read my previous post if you’re wondering about it. I’ll soon be off c/l. I have experimented with nicotine and it seems to work better than the meds. My sense of smell is returning. I’m smelling things that I wish I couldn’t smell, lol. I forgotten
