TSH and SHBG
Does anyone know much about SHBG please? I’ve had a few blood tests and all coming back with high SHBG levels (over 200 but does not state how much over as the lab just reports ‘over’). Doc is fixating on my TSH level (0.005) saying they think I’m over medicated but my T3 and T4 are within range and

Do I have a hysterectomy?
I have suffered with pain since I was 11 years old and am now 38. I have had 2 coils, 2 laparoscopys, tried tri-cycling my combined pill for years, the mini pill, hormone injections and HRT. I have pain for 7-10days on a 2 weekly cycle and feel like my endo rules my life. I feel like I am not able to

Is this all in my head?
Hi Guys I’m hoping someone can convince me that I’m not losing the plot and making this up! I’m 42yrs old. In the last 18 months my cycle has gone from being very regular to being late/early and missing cycles. My mood has also changed, I feel far more irritable, less tolerable and experiencing low

Hip Replacement OP
I've been blessed and offered a cancellation for the hip op. Very last moment, but grabbed it as I've been reduced to a cripple. Had it last Saturday and I'm back home now learning how to walk again and get my knickers on without bending! Just to say the anaesthetist was great. Gave me methadoxatone

Paper discussing combination therapy and gene identity
This newly out paper discusses the benefits of combination therapy over T4 therapy in several situations. It seems that some mutations favour combined therapy whilst others favour T4 only

General Anaesthetics for Pulmonary-Hypertension patients
Hi there. I'm new to this community. I've just been referred to a Pulmonary-Hypertension consultant by my Cardiologist as my latest Echocardiogram says I have "intermediate probability of pulmonary hypertension", along with "moderate mitral valve regurgitation". My question relates to General Anaesthetics

Hello all Haven't posted for a while as generally, things OK ish. Had a few ups and downs with the HRT but seems to be good at the moment and overall a benefit to my various UIA related issues. By no means a cure. Still on hydroxyc. which is still keeping the Raynaud's at bay and I do feel fewer flare

Pain medication recommendations for knee & ankle swelling & inflammation
I find that swelling in either of my knees or ankles triggers my RLS. Since I had a knee replacement 6 months ago, the swelling happens frequently as both legs readjust to the post-surgical healing. A new study revealed that ibuprofen and other NAISDS can cause fatal kidney disease, so my GP took me

HRT/Perimenopause and Thyroxine advice
I had my thyroid removed about three years ago due to Graves Disease and have been just about managing my thyroxine dose since then. I’m in my early 40 s and have noticed that I’m experiencing what I would say are Perimenopause symptoms (although could probably be thyroid related too!!) Poor sleep, change

HRT for fibro? Anyone got experience?
I have severe Fibro and have been bed bound for months with that and covid effects. My GP has suggested HRT - I had a hysterectomy in 2004 so well through the menopause without symptoms. My GP has seen great results in another patient and wants me to consider it. I did read a medical study that backed
