Trying to interpret my results
Hi I was wondering if I could ask some advice regarding my latest results. I've just had bloods done so anticipating the usual conversation with my GP about my TSH being too low.... I've screen shot my results since 2015 basically as I've been tracking them as my TSH rarely changes, even with a reduction

How quickly does TSH increase when you stop taking NDT?
I buy some of my NDT without a script, I take 120mg per day. My GP prescribes me 90mg a day. So I get the rest elsewhere. My GP doesn’t understand that TSH is suppressed on NDT, and I’m not going to be successful in educating him. My TSH was 0.01 on 150mg, but I reduced to 120mg about 5 or 6 weeks ago

Trial of eConsult service
My GP practice has recently launched the eConsult service where it said I could get the results of tests etc, so I tried it. I asked for the results from a recent blood test, and gave the date and time. The one that was supposed to be just vitamins. I had one email back saying the request would be

HRT, low white blood cell count & NDT
I have been having appointments with my GP to try and get an HRT prescription. She wanted a blood test doing first - I have been taking NDT for about 8 years (doing really well on it) and basically my GP didn't understand it, stopped calling me in for blood tests and I haven't been for years. T3 (Cytomel): How would you fit it in these results? Or would you? And all the mistakes I have made on this journey
Latest results (overjoyed to be finally here) - TSH .74 (.32 to 4) T4 14 (9 to 19) T3 4.2 (2.6 to 5.8) I am on 262.5 mcg levothyroxine (Note: In 50s so 50×5 & 1/4 of a 50) I feel what I would deem pleasantly okay. Always have felt the best on NDT, but I needed so much I could no longer afford it. And

Why would my FT4 change?
Hi, My thyroid has been ok for some years now, I have generally felt quite well. A recent GP blood test flagged up that my FT4 is at the bottom of the range. I am currently taking 120mg of NDT, I was on 240mg for many years but was told I must reduce my dosage as my TSH was 0.05. I reduced the dosage

Natural Desiccated Thyroid, NDT, Sources
Hi everyone, I have been on NDT from Thailand for over a decade and I have only just ordered Thyroid-S. The price has gone up and I was a bit worried because I wasn't sure if the supplier would still be available. There used to be so many suppliers and with more competitive prices over there. Now, this

I’ve been taking Armour Thyroid for over 20 years. Previously on NHS but we moved house to a different area and new GP wouldn’t even discuss it. Armour Thyroid is now very expensive and not easy to obtain. I’m concerned about the long term importing and prescribing issues. Long scenario but now under

New paper linking mineral uptake and autoimmune thyroiditis.
This excellent paper (available) relates the value of minerals (well known to TUK) on thyroid function. No surprises but a handy lever to convince doctors of minerals' importance in AIT therapy. There are several papers in this research topic, and this can lead onto their access.

Are Urine tests for Thyroid problems available anywhere?
Many years ago my mother eventually found a solution for her total immobility, weakness, tiredness, and brain fog. It was a thyroid problem. It had not shown up in blood tests. She wrote the following:- [i]
Myalgic Encephalomyelitis., M.E. to its sufferers.

Switching NDTs
Hiya. I am currently trialling a switch to another NDT. I would be grateful if any folk that have done this could advise on dosing during the switch please. Would it be a case of just switching at the same dose, or starting again? Any thoughts would be much appreciated, thanks!

Hypothyroid muscle aches
I have been sub-clinically hypothyroid for at least 14 years, based on my medical records, and was was treated for hypothyroid when my T4 dipped below range for a short while. Stopped when back into bottom of range and T4 always remained low. My TSH was normally around 4.5 - 5. When I asked for treatment
