Post surgery update
Hi all, So 2 months ago I had my operation, this was my 4th laparoscopy. I had questioned beforehand if it was that bad, I had been on zoladex for a few years so thought it couldn't have gotten out of hand. Well it turns out it was really serious, the surgeons did a segmental bowel resection and removed

Bowel issues and Itching
Hi I have had PBC for about 9 years. Two uestions for everyone. 1. Has anyone experienced bowel issues requiring a bowel resection and Ostomy? 2. Just recently I have started to experience itching. Normally it has a fairly nasty rash with it and small hives. Is this the experience of others?

Long term bowel cancer survivor
I was diagnosed with colon cancer at the age of 41. It had already spread to the liver so was classified as Stage IV (and there is no Stage V). Questions so far for the Colo-Rectal surgeon. Can you think of anymore?
1. How many women have you treated for Endo? 2. Are you currently treating anybody else for Endo? 3. Have you collected and published any data in regards to Endo that I can view online? 4. What is your action plan for my treatment? 5. How long doyou think it will take to complete the gathering of

Post op problem
Hi, as a few of you know I am currently recovering from a bowel resection and from further surgery to fix internal bleeding. I have generally been doing fine, and not been in too much pain. My bowel has gone into overdrive, but I was told this might happen (and it should settle). Unfortunately, I also

Bowel op - outcome
So I finally has my bowel resection to remove the remainder of the endo. The surgery went well in the sense that I did not need a stoma as they were able rejoin it. It took just over 6 hours for the resection. In equally good news there was no trace of my previously excised endo or endo anywhere other

I had a bowel resection in Nov last year and it went well. Have just had another colonoscopy to check handiwork and remove 2 polyps.. non cancerous- but since this have suffered with serious bloating . Have tried to reduce fibre but nothing seems to help . I was so lucky in being diagnosed thro the screening

Ibs following bowel surgery
Hello. I had an emergency small bowel resection at the beginning of January. After two months recovery all seemed to be well. Then I had two bouts of stomach cramps and sickness during the night followed by a severe case of gastroenteritis which lasted about ten hours. Since then I have been sick a couple

Treatment for advanced, recurring CaOv/Royal Marsden drug trial (MILO)
Hello, I haven't posted for a while having been lucky enough to have "time off" after 2 CT scans, four months apart, showed some shrinkage of 2 of the 3 tumours. I was diagnosed with Ca Ov nearly 5 years ago and have had 3 ops and 4 lots of chemo. My oncologist was refusing to give me more CT scans

Bowel Prep
As I have mentioned previously I am currently waiting for a bowel resection and removal of endo. I finally have my letter from the hospital confirming the date. The issue is that on the letter it says I am able to eat up until 7 a.m. on the date of my admission?! I rang one of my surgeons secretary's

Endo surgery - bowel resection.
Hi ladies. I have stage 4 Endo, mostly around the bowel. I will be having surgery in the next couple of months. I have been warned of a 6 week recovery time and certainly 6 off work. I was wondering if this is the experience that people have had. I was hoping that this is a very conservative indication

Side effects on progesterone do I go for full hysterectomy & bowel resection
I have stage 4 endo mainly on my bowel. It was discovered after a ruptured ectopic in 2014. I've had a laparoscopy post this & my consultant was very honest & said I needed to either have hormone treatment or full surgery with probable bowel resection as I have large nodules (he admitted he wasn't keen

Confused!!
Hi ladies going to have a bit of a rant I'm afraid. I was admitted to Stepping Hill on Wednesday for bilateral oophorectomy removal of tubes and cervix with probable bowel resection. I had to endure bowel prep and starve myself all day Wednesday, I had a bed booked on high dependency and so had psyched

How long to wait for hysterectomy
Hi, has anyone had to have a full hysterectomy and bowel resection because of endometriosis? I am booked in for this and have my pre op booked for 15th Feb the hospital said they cannot tell me the actual op date as its a joint one with gyne/bowel surgeon. Any idea how long on nhs I'm likely to wait

Severe endo is a hysterectomy a good option?
Hi, after suffering over the last 4-5 years of severe pelvic pain and having various lapatoscopy's for chocolate cysts I have now been diagnosed with severe endometriosis 😔 Endo specialist now has decided I need a full pelvic clearout with possible bowel resection. I am as you can imagine very nervous

Bowel resection
Hi all, just joined. I've just had my 5th lap, diagnosed nearly 12 years ago. I now have a mirena coil to control the endo but this stops working after approx 2.5 years and I have to have a GA to change it. Unfortunately, when I had this done in October the new coil wasn't fitted properly and after being
