Waking up a sleeping colon
I went 3 times, all was "normal" but soft from the Miralax and
Colace
(every other day). I ended up lying down and sleeping like a rock with chills for about 2 hours. Woke up and felt weak but literally wonderful with my body cleaned out like that.

Constipation
I take Miralax every day,
Colace
every other day - drink constantly - and now I have huge BM feelings and go to the bathroom and feel like I''ve accomplished something - then I look and it is not at all what it felt like - smallish, yellowish and a lot of yellow-orange mucus.

Terrified
I started taking stool softeners (
colace
) and after a week nothing. I did a Fleet enema and finally 9 days after surgery I had a BM and it was like the flood gates to hell opened. I went over and over again with it getting softer and eventually diarrhea.

Started MRI Guided SBRT at MSK
However, Citrical, Senna and
Colace
help. My first of five radiation treatments was on Monday. Each session starts with an enema but unlike other forms of radiation, MRI guided SBRT requires and empty bladder instead of a full one.

Nausea/Stomach Post-transplant
I have used miralax, psyllium husks, prunes, fruit,
Colace
, dulcolax and all sorts of remedies that I've read about. One of the nephrologists who did an exam of me post transplant gave me a prescription for Zofran. Unfortunately, he only gave me a 30-day supply.

Constipation vs obstipation?
Using
colace
the stools were less frightening meaning they were smaller. But there's still difficulty evacuating the stools. In my younger days I was a weight lifter and quite proud of my abdominal muscles. I could always force things out thanks to abdominal contractions.

Avoiding constipation
My 88 y o mother has been on
Colace
100mg 2x daily and Benifer laxative powder 2x daily. If by 2:00 pm she does not have a bowel movement, then MD recommended to have mom take Metamucil as well. This laxative regime has been effective for the past 3 weeks and has not failed her yet.

Late update to still in pain and depressed
She has me on psyllium husk powder for fiber, and
Colace
. Plus I take powdered magnesium. These haven’t done a whole lot. This time she added Miralax which works fine.

Opiates for treatment
Also lots and lots of
Colace
to prevent constipation. Also, for breakthrough symptoms, 100 mg Gabapentin works within 10-15 minutes. Finally! Relief!

Pain and fatigue at 8mg
She said use pain patches and Metamucil and
Colace
. They’ve improved things but I still have some pain. Tylenol helps slightly. I took ibuprofen 8mg, once, and it did help. My GP also said Physical therapy would help the arthritis.

Treatment for constipation
It's a website providing
colace
products like
colace
capsules ( https://www.colace.ca/products/
colace
-clear-capsules/ ), stool softeners and all. So I would like to know whether any of you are familiar with these products. Or Do you know how effective these products are to treat constipation?

Questions about OIC
I've tried Metamucil, Miralax,
Colace
and generic type stool softeners. Does anyone have anything that works for them? The last time I check with the doctor, he sent me out a prescription which I was anxious to try, but it was very expensive.

Just read article that Kefir (drink) is better than Probiotic yogurt for IBS and IBS-C. Does anyone take this..is it helpful for IBS, IBS-C?
My last options are 2-3 stool softeners a day (
Colace
), and Senna once a week on Sundays which is an excellent laxative. But it disrupts my life, I have been on once a week Senna for about 8 years. Stool softeners are not working well, produce little and I still have to strain.

New Gastroenterologist prescribed Trulance (Plecanatide) 3mg tablets for IBS-C. Is anyone on this? Is it helping? Also wants Sphincter? Test
Said over time, depending if this works, also wants me off daily stool softener (
Colace
) use. I told him Miralax did not work for me at one time, just had cramping, but he still insisted on adding that if Linzess is not producing enough.

Are using stool softeners (Colace) every day plus a stimulant laxative on a weekend day..**really enough** for Chronic/severe "C"
Now, I take
Colace
, and use restroom now about 4-6 times a week..(sometimes twice a day)..but I am just having several (about 12-15..sorry) "pellets". I also don't have to strain enough. However, even this..4-6 times a week and many "pellets" is it enough? What really defines constipation?
