Struggling again
Hi After a few months of feeling relatively ok and booking a 5 week cruise for February I am now struggling again and doubting I will be able to go . I haven’t said anything to my husband yet and that’s making me very anxious . I always sufffer badly with anxiety and I think it’s when my T3 is low .

Blood test prep
Hi, Please can someone remind me what I need to stop taking before thyroid blood tests are carried out? I’m currently taking HRT transdermal oestrogen, DHEA tablets and progesterone tablets. I also started taking b vit complex, methylated folate, niacinimide, omega oils. I’m undiagnosed currently

High inflammation
I’ve been caring for my husband for months with things becoming progressively difficult. Fortunately he now has personal medical care. Since Christmas my stress levels have gone into overdrive. Since new year I have been totally exhausted and sick most days, though I’m not eating a lot. Any day to day

Supplements to help liver
I had a blood test that showed raised ALT and then stopped drinking for 3 months and the repeat test had gone down to normal levels. I have heard that various things can help the liver, milk thistle, artichoke, dandelion etc. Is there any merit in any of these. I do not drink a lot but the occasional

Doctors visit post blood tests
Hi. I have just been to the doctor's to discuss the blood results I recently posted on here. I'm getting celiac test done and he has put me on vitamin D. He said to take a multivitamin to improve my folate level. He thinks my symptoms are down to taking too much levothyroxine, he said I should reduce

Fibromyalgia A Living Nightmare
Hello 👋Sorry that the title of this blog sounds so blunt. I have tried all known medication from NHS and private pain specialist & sadly to say that there is no cure whatsoever. Fibromyalgia attacks the central nervous system in a manner beyond words. It's not just the agony of the pain and constant

Update on my last visit and tests - Hyperthyroidism and Graves
Hi all, Just a quick update on how I’m getting on and a quick background of my story . I went to the doctors due to having premenopausal symptoms in July 2023 and it transpired that my thyroid was at fault. I then had regular blood tests which showed the thyroid to be on the higher range bracket but

DI02 Test advice please
Following a really useful twitter thread about the Deiodinase 2 gene and its effects on response to levothyroxine, I have ordered and received a saliva test for DIO2 but need to loop in a medical practitioner to receive the results. I have an appointment with my GP this week to discuss blood test results

Private blood test
I've been on levo 75mg for about 5yrs. Dr wouldn't increase because TSH was low and diabetes endo wouldn't look at my thyroid issues. After a private blood test last year I mentioned t3 to him as mine is low. He said we don't trust private bloods. Can't give t3 but you can see a private endo who will

Update re: Total Confusion about Ferritin (Medichecks) Results!
As promised to Seaside Susie, and 6 months later, please see below response I've had from Medichecks. I'm just sad it didn't come in time for Seaside Susie to see that they had eventually listened to us! It is an improvement on the previous reference range for over 60yrs females but it raises more questions

Money saving
I’ve never posted on here before as I’ve been really lucky with my surgery and treatment of my B12. However, on 05/01/24 I was informed that this would be my last injection, I would need a blood test to confirm if my injections were to be continued. Quite open about the fact that everyone in the surgery

Hyperthyroid update
Happy New Year, everyone! Since my last post, I received an appointment with my Endo department for this coming Thursday 11th. Since being put back on carbimazole and propanolol, my heart rate in particular is back to normal. I checked with the Endo department whether I needed a blood test beforehand

Hyper symptom cause
I've done a lot of reading and learning on here over the last few months and so now got to the point of starting to asking questions to this very knowledge community. I have many signs & symptoms (and bloods) that indicate I'm hypo but one or two that seem to feel like how I was when I was very hyper
