Adenocarcinoma / Ductal Carcinoma PC
We just found out my 86 yr old father's "bladder cancer" biopsy is actually ductal carcinoma. The tumor was on the urethra, and has been bleeding since August 2022. His PSA was 4.2, which was the same psa I had when I was diagnosed. However, I have adenocarcinoma. With the knowledge of his cancer

Do I declare Esophageal varices (no longer found) on travel insurance?
Hi All, I've booked a holiday for April next year and I'm looking for a bit of advice regarding my travel insurance. Due to having a blood clot in my portal vein because of my MPN I was diagnosed with having Esophageal varices (bloated blood vessels). However, I recently had an endoscopic examination

Pre-biotics vs post biotics - do we need pre, post or both?
This is a follow up post to the recent one about inulin. I had spent a lot of time involved with post-biotics but never really considered pre-biotics at all to date. This all changed quite recently when I stumbled across inulin which is described in a recent post so will not repeat all those comments

Bppv episode and pd symptoms
I’ve had pddv vertigo started over ten years ago with episodes every few years. It’s not a serious diagnosis. Crystals in an ear get dislodged causing the room to spin. I received treatment for it but now I have balance problems and my pd symptoms are worse. My MDs expects gradual improvement but for

Newly diagnosed
Hi All, I've just joined this group looking to educate myself following a recent 2nd positive lupus test. I am waiting for a pheumatology appointment but no idea when that is going to happen so a bit concerned I am losing time on getting a plan in place. 30 years ago I tested positive for Anti Phospholipid

A case study post bariatric surgery
For anyone who has access to twitter, this case study posted yesterday might be of some interest. Probably as much for the discussion as the original case. (Don't get too excited! It is just another case where the origination of the problem doesn't get blamed. As I see it, the cause was iatrogenic and

unilateral tinnitus
hi there I’ve been experiencing a constant vibrating feeling in my right ear. It’s really loud when I’m lying in bed and easier to deal with in the day time. My ear feels blocked and muffled. I have minor ear pain (more like the odd shooting pain) and itchy ears. Can anyone relate?

Aspartame
Hi what is the current advice on use of aspartame particularly for liver sufferers. Since my diagnosis I've tried to cut out a lot of sugar in my diet and I've been consuming a lot of diet stuff. I use sweetner in my coffee and half and half on my cereals. I also consume a lot of diet drinks - Fanta

Gluten free diet
I have been on a Gluten Free diet for more then 10 years. Recently I have had abdominal pain, flatulence, and reflux after food. I found out you can buy a Coeliac kit from the chemist, but not sure about it. I feel I should go to the GP but have been in hospital in the past and the DR there said I had
