Finger misbehaving (!) ...Ulnar Deviation
Hello, I recently noticed my middle finger has gone bent towards the pinky finger. I couldn't believe my eyes and did internet search. It happens to people with RA and Lupus. A bit shocking. I have been doing mild squeezing exercise daily to help increase my hand strength. I think it may be due to

Dry eye medication
For several years since eye surgery I have been prescribed eye lubricants. The prescriptions always say Thealoz Duo Gel yet I have always been given the Thealoz Duo UD even when I questioned this several times. Recently I was given the Gel form and nothing else. Of course this is excellent at night

Liothyronin T3 and insulin resistance
I’ve been doing some research as my blood sugar levels (measured by HbA1C) have been persistently high despite exercise, low carb diet, weight loss and muscle gain. Prompted by the very wise SlowDragon that T3 can cause high sugars, I decided to delve deeper. I came across a lot of articles online

Diet Advice
hey all, My mum continues to fight, and I’m determined not to let her give in to this awful illness. she’s agreed to make a good effort with food, and the NHS dietician isn’t going to be able to see her until mid Feb earliest. what should she be doing? I previously thought it was low carb, med diet

ThyroidDisease and Cataracts
Has anyone had any experience with developing cataracts and is there a potential link to thyroid disease? My ophthalmologist has told me my thyroid eye disease makes me a poor surgical candidate.and getting a second opinion is pretty much out of the question. I am 61 and an active sewer and the prospect

Hydroxycarbamide and lungs
I have been on hydroxycarbamide for nearly 9 years with no serious problems, but now I am getting slight breathlessness. I was surprised to read that this medicine can cause interstitial lung disease such as pulmonary fibrosis. I don’t remember it being mentioned on the forum. Of course some diseases

First Post (advice if possible)
hi all, my SO drinks minimum of 45 units per week, sometimes 60. Gets up for work bright as a button, if he goes two days without booze he's quite nasty and won't eat because each food group needs to "have a beer with it". He won't listen to reason, thinks I am nagging, constantly promising to

My tinnitus story so far (9 months and counting)
Here's my story so far, for if it helps anybody. Please comment if it relates to you in any way.
Day 1 - The start
I was at the office and I heard a weird roaring sound in my left ear. I went to the bathroom, held my nose and blew to relieve pressure like on a plane, but it was obvious this

Warfarin
For all those who have been happily on warfarin for years with well-managed INR yet are still being badgered by their GP to change to a DOAC with stories of reduced bleeding risk, this study should set your mind at rest that there is no reason to change whatsoever. 5 years ago my father reluctantly

ubiquinone vs ubiquinol
I have just realised my Coq10 I’ve been taking for three months is ubiquinone form. I just thought I was taking ubiquinol 😫 Been doing 300mg twice a day. I’m worried I’ve missed a trick now. I’ve ordered some ubiquinol now but I’m starting downreg in about three weeks. Thoughts please lovely people

Something I forgot to mention
I wrote about Toprol (Metoprol) a few minutes ago. I forgot to mention that I also take Flecainide, 100 mg. twice a day.

Zanubrutinib and hair loss?
Hello and Happy Holidays to all! After almost 5 years post captivate trial, I will likely start Zanubrutinib in February or March. My specialist suggested taking Simvastatin in combination with Celebrex experimentally for a couple of months to see if my numbers remain stable. If not, then I will begin

Stomach rumbling growling and pain
Hi, i have a lot of stomach growling and rumbling which is extremely loud and can be heard from far away. People have commented on hearing a lot of noise and it makes me uncomfortable. I also get a lot of pain. The rumbling/growling happens most of the day and last quite a long time between intervals
