Eligard and bicalutamide.
Started eligard and
bicalutamide
post RP in 2018. Followed advice of urologist until 2022. New urologist took me off both after PSA of 0.01. Unfortunately, l did not receive advice about secondary effects of the above drugs-osteoporosis etc.

Bicalutamide
The thing I don’t understand is during the visit to the Urologist to discuss his biopsy results, the urologist prescribed 50mg of
Bicalutamide
to begin reducing his testosterone. I believe this is premature. What does this esteemed group say?

Bicalutamide Vs Eligard
I am going to start
Bicalutamide
50mg for a few weeks prior to starting Eligard. My question is, could I hold off taking Eligard until early June and just remain on
Bicalutamide
for 3 months until early June when I would then start Eligard?

Bicalutamide and Eligard
I have relied on
bicalutamide
for 40 months already. Doctor still thinks it is still working. He said somebody it works for 12 years. Is that true? What options do I have?

bicalutamide no longer as effective?
After more than two years of
bicalutamide
monotherapy and repeated PSA<0.1 I just received a 0.6. Before the
bicalutamide
my PSMA scan showed activity in only the seminal vesicle region. PSA was 2.5 at that time. Lupron had ceased being effective.
Bicalutamide
had a terrific response.

Is Orgovyx as effective as Lupron/Degarelix ?
My Dad , 83 , with bone mets has started
bicalutamide
since a week and is soon to take the Lupron shot. But he has a fear of injections as many years back he has developed an abscess due to an injection wrongly given. Is orgovyx as effective as the injections in reducing testesterone ?

Bicalutamide (Casodex) then Eligard - Question
OK, Another quick question. I've been on Bical for 11 days and in 3 days I get my first 1 month injection of Eligard. I have had almost zero side effects with Bical, maybe a little extra fatigue but hardly noticeable. Does this mean that perhaps I will tolerate Eligard better than what some people experience

Avodart added to my treatment regimen. I am Leary of it.
My MO prescribed
bicalutamide
and avodart after my 20 rounds of SBRT. My PSA went up to 21 after the SBRT. The
bicalutamide
I understand. I am leary of the avodart. I am concerned that it will mask PSA rise from cancer. Any thoughts on this?

Dad,83 - is biopsy necessary ?
Went to an oncologist who said to do a PSMA and then to start him on Lupron and
bicalutamide
. And maybe radiation for the bone met pain. He said he did not really need him to do a biopsy as treatment would not change but if WE wanted to we could.

1 month vs 3 month HT injections
The RO wants me to start on 14 days of
Bicalutamide
tablets, then 3 monthly injections of Eligard. So I have a few questions; 1: I remember someone mentioning on this forum that monthly injections are easier to tolerate compared to injections every 3 months.

I wonder if anyone knows why or has experienced a rise on PSA level (from 70 to 274), 6 months after radiation therapy (VMAT x 26 sessions)?
Before and after radiation therapy, dad was taking
Bicalutamide
50 mg and Alfuzosin50 mg together with a quarterly Leuprorelin injection.

Lupron - are there heart risks?
He has been started on
bicalutamide
100 mg a day for a few days and after around ten days he is supposed to get his first Lupron shot. My question is does Lupron cause heart issues ? Would degarelix or relugolix be better choices ?

They say the treatment isn't much different, and are starting meds with 7 days of
Bicalutamide
, then a shot of Leuprolide every 6 months along with Abiraterone and Prednisone daily. Radiation IGBT to follow in 3 months.

Treatment options
I am 47 years old diagnosed with PC last month with Gleason score 9(5,4) and was advised ADT treatment with
Bicalutamide
and followed by Lupron 30 mg after two weeks. PSA was 77 in Jan and dropped to 23 after starting ADT treatment and already feeling better with much less urinary symptoms.

Making a Case for Intermittent ADT in Metastatic Hormone Sensitive Prostate Cancer
Some on this site are now on monotherapy with
bicalutamide
, enzalutamide, apalutamide or darolutamide, and doing well... A study that involves those options along with using SBRT in oligometastatic disease could change the current SOC... Consider this a call for new studies...
