Visanne hormone treatment
Hi I have been recommended Visanne by my gynecologist, which she said may help to shrink an endometrimoa on my left ovary (around 3.5cm), and help with pain management. I wonder if anyone here has any experience with this pill, and if there is anything I should be aware of before I start. Thank you

Supplements for metastatic prostate cancer
Is there a list of supplements that are safe to take after initial treatment for metastatic prostate cancer. I see many different posts describing benefits and problems with taking supplements. When I was originally diagnosed in 2017 at age 52 with metastatic prostate cancer, I was immediately proscribed

Optimal duration of adjuvant ADT depends on the type of radiation used for high-risk patients
• at least 26.3 months for external beam radiation only (EBRT-only) • at least 12 months for brachy boost therapy (BBT) https://www.prostatecancer.news/2022/01/optimal-duration-of-adjuvant-adt.html This contradicts Nabid's finding that 18 months are as good as 36 months. The reasons for the discrepancy

First time on this forum, hoping to connect with people with similar experience
I am a 68 (minus 4 days) male. Was relatively healthy until about a month or two ago. Had just Hashimoto's, which was under control with Levothyroxin (100ug) and Cytomel. I went for a physical two weeks ago and my PCP called me the same day to tell me that she wants the blood test repeated the next day

First Adt treatment
I started firmagon and zytiga/prednisone on December 10. On January 7, testosterone was below 3, but PSA increased from 4.8 to 5.1. Home likely is prostate resistant cancer after first treatment? I may be on the wrong forum here, because I am Gleason 8, cribriform morphology and PNI, but no indications

This has been happening more often lately, at

My experience with Orgovyx / Relugolix
For men out there getting ready to start ADT, or having difficulty with their current ADT medication, I thought I would share my recent experience with 6 months of Orgovyx. I was diagnosed in April with 3+4 GG2 PCa, but was considered unfavorable intermediate risk due to amount of cancer found (7/13

Symptoms post hormonal treatment
I’ve had the mirena coil for almost 8 years (8 years post diagnosis) and I’ve started having symptoms again. No bleeding or severe cramps but bad back and pelvis pain. Has anyone else had this post hormonal treatment? Or am I being overly worried?

Da Vinci Procedure Amazing
Folks, I had the Da Vinci removal of my twenty year old irradiated prostate this past Friday. Side effects minimal so far except for pain at robot introduction site above my navel. I am familiar with long ugly scars from previous hip replacement and fractured femur and legs and I am so thankful to not

Salvage Pelvic Lymph Node Dissection in Recurrent Prostate Cancer: Surgical and Early Oncological Outcome
While googling possible treatment of retroperitoneal lymph nodes I found this and thought it was interesting. I know this is not my husband's situation but others might be interested who haven't started ADT and who have slower moving PSA. Is surgery for RPLNs ever a good idea for recurrent prostate

Three-Year Anniversary
Three years on ADT only. Lupron and abiraterone + prednisone. PSA staying low and MRI shows cervical neck tumor hasn’t grown and maybe shrank. Even with not-much-fun ADT side effects, I feel blessed.

How to decide whether to have a hysterectomy
Hi, I'm newly diagnosed with stage 4 endo including 6 cm cyst and endo on anterior rectal wall. I've seen a private Dr who has advised I'd need surgery rather than just trying hormone treatment and my options are either a lap to remove what they can or a full hysterectomy. I'm 45, so fertility isn't

Statins and ADT?
"Conclusions and Relevance Statin use at the time of ADT initiation was associated with a significantly longer TTP during ADT even after adjustment for known prognostic factors. Our in vitro finding that statins competitively reduce DHEAS uptake, thus effectively decreasing the available intratumoral

Update: results of a recent PSMA PETscan
I wanted to share with you the results of my recent PSMA PET SCAN. A quick synopsis of my history: an 18+ year journey: radical prostatectomy in August 2003. PSA following surgery was 0.1. It slowly rose to 0.4 over a period of 11 years. Following a more rapid rise to .6, I had salvage radiation in
