I’m on the pernicious
anaemia
and thyroid sections too and have had lots of great advice but I still have all the same symptoms albeit less dramatic than the initial collapse. I’m so confused about where to go for help.

So what should I ask my new specialist?
Am a 50s male diagnosed with CLL less than one year ago. Recently, ALC doubling rate has progressed to <3 months, up to 48 k/uL recently. Platelets have dropped to 90s so not a health issue yet. Absolute monocytes recently up to 2.6k/uL, well above 1.0 nominal. Fatigue getting worse but no other

Anaemia problems ?
A constant problem she seems to have is
Anaemia
, particularly after a bad flare. Her haemoglobin count falls to below 80 and she feels rubbish, looks ghost like and cant do anything. She has had both blood and iron infusions in the past and two recently which helps temporarily.

Is there a way to prevent haemolysis of finger prick blood draws?
Not greatly important, but interested in your thoughts. This has happened to me only 2 times over the past few years, and one of those times I delayed sending the kit back by a day (I was new to taking home tests then) so understandable. But this month it has happened twice in a row whilst trying to

Uk What is the exact SNOMED code for CLL to get priority PCR test kit and letter?
In the continuing saga of trying to get a priority PCR test and letter does anybody know the exact SNOMED code For CLL that has to be on your medical records in the UK for you to get a priority PCR test and letter from NHS England? I am going round and round in circles being pushed from 119 back to

Reference for iron, ferritin, folate, B12, D testing?
Hello, thanks to you all for offering such important and helpful information- I’m getting ready to meet with my doc and ask for these labs, and would love to present research in support. If you can, I would appreciate a reference. TIA - PBSC (in USA)

Assistance with Potential misdiagnosis.
Hi All, I was unsure where to turn and you guys are my last hope! In July 2020 I was diagnosed with MS ( Multiple Sclerosis ) due to having some numbness and tingling in legs and foot and cognitive problems ( forgetful and thinking issues ) and extreme fatigue. I then had an MRI which revealed lesions

Iron + magnesium - bothered
I am experimenting with magnesium following some recent posts. I believe someone (jools?) is taking 100mg. I'm using magnesium bisglycinate and took one (88mg) last night, about 30 min before taking my alternate day iron bisglycinate (25mg) [on an empty stomach, of course]. The prior night had been RLS

Five weeks on increased dose of levo. Not sure if dipping again already
Morning😀 So after three months on 50mg levo, I was put up to 75mg and have been on that for five weeks. I started to feel better again after a week or so, got my energy back… and now, the last two days I’ve felt so tired again. Bit headachey, have been suffering a bit of shortness of breath which never

Blood results back. Ferritin low but haemoglobin normal. TSH slightly raised.
Hi, thank you for all your previous help when I first posted about how tired I was constantly. I was advised to repost when I got my blood results back from the doc. They didn’t test all my vitamins but these are, I think, the most relevant ones from my results. TSH 2.43 (0.3-4.50) I have an endo

Does the choice of blood test lab matter?
I want to organise a private blood test to check for pernicious
anaemia
due to symptoms and family history. My question relates to the difference between lab tests. Medichecks offers an MMA test for £127 plus £30 to get it done in a clinic. Nothing apart from mma is tested.

ALT & ALK exceptionally HIGH. Feeling very very anxious.
Hi, New here - this is my first post - hope all is OK. My ALT & Alk. Phos blood test have, ‘gone thru the roof’! I have been having monthly blood checks on the liver since April last year – numbers slowly reducing. My last monthly LFT was end of October, 2021 results being at the high end of normal -

Hi I’ve posted on here the other day to say I had left it 6 weeks in between my B12 jab instead of 4 weeks and have had a horrible week of symptoms, I went yesterday to have my B12 administered and asked my practitioner ( I have to have them done privately ) would she do a blood test before my Jab to

IFab or MMA
Hello I am trying to investigate low active b12 results (at the low end of the reference range). Am I better to organise a private iFab test or an MMA test? Medichecks suggested MMA but is iFab better? My mum didn’t get diagnosed with PA with low intrinsic factor until she was very severely disabled

Has anyone tried methyl cobalamin for injection from India, japan and Malaysia?
In these countries methylcobalamine is sold in supermarket. Indian methylcobalamine is so cheap and look like they have proper certificates for quality assurance. In the meantime there are some facilitators for continuous delivery of hydroxocobalamin which are so cheap and work like insulin pump work

Why in Dutch guideline for PA and B12 deficiency emphasis is just on IM injection and SC injection not mentioned?
I'm wondering why in dutch guideline for PA and B12 deficiency there is no SC injection. Is there any difference between IM injection and SC injection results? Why frequency of injection is different than NGS NICE guideline? In my experience more retention of B12 is the only key factor in symptoms improvement

Underactive Thyroid, Hashimoto, Anaemia or none of the above
Any thoughts on the below please? I am considered normal but hoping to see an Endo specialist privately. I do have some more blood test results re: blood count but thought these might be the key ones. Can add if needed Creatinine 83 (range 53 - 97) Calcium 2.41 mmol (no normal range) CKD 75ml/min/1.73m2
