New rationale for treatment
Wondered if anyone else is on this regimen? I received 3 injections of lucentis at monthly intervals with increasingly bad reactions. The last one caused burning that lasted 12 hours, followed by the gritty feeling ( worse than ever/ which didn't really ease up. After several days I rang the hospital

Holistic alternative to RAI or surgery?
Hello, this is my first post on this website. I have an overactive thyroid due to Graves' disease, and I am currently being treated with carbimazole for my second round of hyperthyroidism. My NHS consultant says that as it has come back my condition now needs to be treated permanently with RAI or surgery

Overactive Thyroid - recommendation for private Endo in Suffolk/Norfolk Please
I feel I need a second opinion on my treatment for Overactive Thyroid. I am reluctant to have RAI treatment as I have heard so many horror stories. And whilst I, at present, have a couple of niggling symptoms I do not feel ill. Can anyone recommend an Endocrinologist, with a private practice in Suffolk

What is the safe time between taking levothyroxine and omeprazole, 6 hours?
Hi I'm new to hypothyroidism after Radioactive iodine treatment and have graves. I'm also still under adjustment of levothyroxine 100mcg at present and am getting heartburn quite a lot. So so tired of trying to get well with such poor results, 9 years on and I feel so depressed. (Graves’ disease) ( blood tests inc in post).
Is there anyone with Graves’ disease that has managed long term remission?. For 9 years I have tried and only managed 18 months remission. I try to do everything to help myself. With health, I don’t drink or smoke, eat well and exercise moderately, take vitamins etc. Here are my latest bloods after 6

Radioactive Iodine Treatment or Thyroidectomy?
Hello! I was diagnosed with Graves Disease in May 2017, my levels of TSH came down to normal range and so I was taken off Carbimozole in March 2019. Two weeks ago I was admitted to hospital with a heart rate of 160, where they'd found I was down to 7.5 stone and unfortunately that my hyperthyroidism

Indefinite antithyroid drug therapy in toxic Graves’ disease: What are the cons
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3830376/ Whilst I don't agree especially with the cost effectiveness bits comparing ATD therapy to RAI or TT, this piece is chocked full of details about ATD, RAI, TT. Worth a read since many of us always wonder how long we can go on with Graves on ATD therapy

Questions about bone marrow biopsy (having my second one Tuesday 😰) and MDS
Hi, I am getting my second bone marrow biopsy in less than a year on Tuesday 😥 because I have had low white blood cells since last fall, and as of Monday they were down to 1.6k/ml . If anyone has a chance to look at my results, can you explain about MDS. One doctor said I essentially have it just because
