Apparently it is already available in the UK under a special access program sp for anyone with really severe problems - maybe worth following up?
Thanks, very informative. It looks like it consists of inactivated bacteria injected sublingual. The study seems to suggest relief for those of us who suffer UTI’s several times a year. I guess I would want to know if it is going to give my GCA a big nudge? I just had a nasty UTI and it came with a giant GCA flare that has taken two weeks to get control of.
A very interesting read Pro. I come under the ‘neurogenic bladder’ (MS). I got down to 1 antibiotic that worked for me but it didn’t stop reoccurrence of aggressive UTI’s. I now have my bladder relined every 4 weeks and treatment will be for life. It is currently working for me.
I would hope this research will help others.
Everyone pulls a face when they know what it involves. First they drain the bladder - even though I go to the loo there’s usually a tiny residue - then insert the treatment via catheter. Doesn’t take long at all. They started me on a low dose treatment but it wasn’t enough so am on the higher dose and is working. I still take medication for my overactive bladder. It’s a blessing the treatment works. It took some years (because of moving house and covid) for Urology and Neurology to fathom it all out and get the correct diagnosis.
As long as it works! Bit of a pain having to have it so often though.
