My 77 year old husband with CKD stage 3b who is otherwise healthy ( no CVD, controlled diabetes with HgA1c at 7.0%) got up this morning nauseous and dizzy. I helped him sit down, hydrated with water etc. His blood pressure has been stable 100/70 and his hemoglobin is 12.5g/dL. He has been on thyroxine supplement recently due to sub clinical hypothyroidism.
I am worried sick that this is a prelude to the inevitable heart attack, a fate that awaits most non dialysis patients in stage 3b. I have alerted his PCP who has not responded yet. Looking for advice and feedback. Thanks, grateful for this forum.

I am a male age 81 and have had similar issues occasionally, and blood pressure about the same as your husband. Be sure to tell his Doctor and request more blood tests. Everyone is different but mine is related to a vitamin deficiency associated with CKD.
there are several resons for nausea and dizziness that have nithing to do with ckd. nausea and diziness usually go hand in hand. there is a condition i as well as may people i know suffer from BPV ..caused my the ears. It is miserable. usually occur when waking up and turning head. it is a type of vertigo..I am no doctor but worth aking about. there are treatments and special manuevvers to get those little particles in the ear to return to norrmal positions. If this is what it is it is ot serious but ery uncmfortable. The first time it happened i missed 2 days of work as i could not walk.. not i know wht it is..benign promixal vertigo i think...
Thanks much, yes indeed it started when he got up from bed in the morning. Vertigo never occurred to me. Hope to see his PCP and follow up for vertigo!
What precautions did you take to lessen or resolve it?
There are physical therapy treatments for BPPV. I have it and it comes back every few years. It sounds like science fiction, but is very real. The crystals in your inner ear get moved into the wrong compartment in your ear. Physical therapy manipulates your head to get the crystals moved and stop the vertigo. There are also home treatments - a series of movements - that I do when it shows up.
Aug 5, 2022 — BPPV causes brief episodes of mild to intense dizziness. It is usually triggered by specific changes in your head's position. This might occur ...
do a lot of research of BPV... the are head manuevers that help...epleys maneuvers.. the idea is to get the crystals in the ear back to the right position. for me the recautions were not to fall down...lol.. but see doctor.. ufortuntely does recur..but once you now what it is the stress goes away...
