The link bounces....
Thanks, although that's a pretty superficial article. Doesn't even mention anything about strength training.
Thanks for posting this excellent exercise link, Orangecity.
A few months ago, I started a daily walking regimen by increasing the time by 15 minutes each day.
That stopped recently but I can certainly attest to the fact that among the other good reasons the link lists for exercise, beginning the walks again in slow increments (from street mailbox and back to short end of block, then longer has is helping me not only regain strength and stamina but also has helped change for the better my recent unpleasant bathroom routine.
I used to do ultramarathons, 50ks walking for the most part but an auto accident hurt my SI joint and it became hard, then Covid and until just recently I started walking again. I do 30 min MWF on my treadmill and on TTHS I use my rowing machine for about 5 min (that's all I can do right now) and then I do 15 min on the treadmill after. I take one day fully off. I did get my doc's approval before beginning. I had read that you recover better after a transplant if you are physically fit so no matter how tired I am I get on that treadmill.
NO JOGGING or bouncing.
Thanks for finding an article which focuses on this important part of kidney health and posting it. 😊
I purchased a recumbent elliptical machine about 5 years ago. At that time I was having lots of issues with low BP and sudden plummeting BP so I didn’t feel secure using a regular elliptical machine but wanted to continue doing something for exercise. Walking was also problematic at that point with my BP issues.
I got permission from my doctors and sought advice from a trainer who specializes in exercise programs for persons with chronic medical conditions including CKD. I started completing the 12 minute beginner level program on the machine. I now do a full 60 minutes a day in 12 minute increments: 2 beginner level, 2 level 1 and 1 level 2. My physicians have said not to over due the levels but definitely do a full 60 minutes a day if I feel up to it.
I also have been able to walk again now that my BP is no longer plummeting or running low. So I have gradually built that up to walking 2 miles a day. I’m not walking fast but go for distance.
I definitely feel better when I exercise. Plus it’s a great stress management strategy. In the summers I replace some of my elliptical machine work with bike riding.
But I’m definitely not doing anything for strength training. I need to make some changes in that area...

Wonderful the exercise has helped you and being proactive with Doctor approval. I too do not do strength training, but do some light hand weights with prescribed routine by Physical Therapist.
