Being out of a job, I have a lot of time, besides looking for a job, to write on this forum and take the time to take care of myself.
It's day 4 of having my niece visiting and I've enlisted her help to get in shape, exercise, push myself to move more. Today, I asked her to come walking/running with me as "I don't know yet if I can still run". Have not tried since MS diagnosis, and in 2+ years.
So today was a great day because I did a lot. But I've learned my new limits. Running is very limited (feet dragging), and walking (what we fell back to) was far from ideal. I ended up falling flat on my face, scrapping hands and knees in front of her. New experience!

Well done for trying. Now at least your niece knows your limitations and what the ms is doing to your body. Don’t give up, keep trying, Blessings Jimeka 🦋
I’ve done the same thing myself years ago. I had to tell my mind to stop lying to my body😀. My mind told my body I could run but after 5 minutes, my body knocked me back to reality😀. The hard way (ouch).
I haven't been able to run since 2009. Now there's a whole lot more I can't do. MS is just one new experience after another and the constant adjustment that goes with it. I think I'm hitting a new one now.
You’re my hero for trying! Sometimes we can amaze ourselves with what we can still accomplish, but we can also discover some things to which we must adapt. Keep going, but stay safe!
I went back out today for a walk. I did not try to run and took a walking stick, just in case. It went a lot better! No need for the stick. We walked for 1hr 20min. Now putting a whole plan for the weekend - yoga sessions and more. Got to push myself while I have time and someone much younger to keep encouraging me.
Congratulations for giving it a try. Yes, you must start off slowly and cautiously. In the house I use a used treadmill I managed to purchase. But I make sure I carry my alert system in case I fall and get injured. (I am often alone). I worked myself up to walking for 20 minutes and then increase the pace on the treadmill then I started going outside . Sometimes I just walk from one end of the hall of my residence to the other about 50 to 60 times. But I too, need a motivator, someone to make me get up off my derrier and start moving. Good luck wishing you success!
