I CQUIRED AN INJURY TO MY BRAIN

IT CAUSED ME GRIEF

IT CAUSED ME PAIN

IT MAKES ME WOBBLE WHEN I WALK

IT MAKES ME STAMMER WHEN I TALK

I CAN'T REMEMBER VERY

MY MEMORY IS SHOT TO HELL

I REMEMBER THINGS FROM YEARS AGO

ASK ME ABOUT LAST NIGHT I DON'T KNOW

MY HEART STOPPED BEATING SO THEY SAY

SO NOV4th IS MY NEW BIRTHDAY

I LOOK FOR THINGS TO PASS THE TIME

LIKE WRITING THINGS LIKE THIS LITTLE RHYME

IT MIGHT NOT BE WRITTEN VERY WELL

BUT IF PEOPLE DON'T LIKE IT WHAT THE HELL

I GO TO HEADWAY AND THE NSBP

THE PEOPLE THERE MEAN A LOT TO ME

NOW IT'S NEARLY TIME FOR ME TO END

BUT NOT WITHOUT MENTIONING MY BESTEST FRIEND

HER NAME IS JAN SHE' A LIVERPOOL FANATIC

SHE DOESN'T DO HOBBIES E.G. MACRAME OR BATIK

SHE SAVED MY LIFE I CAN'T THANK HER ENOUGH

ESPECIALLY WHEN TIMES WERE TOUGH

SHE WAS WITH ME ON THE 4th OF NOVEMBER

THERE'S NOTHING OF THAT DAY THAT I REMEMBER

BUT JAN SHE VISITED ME EVERY DAY

NO WHAT WEATHER WAS THROWN HER WAYI

I'LL FINISH NOW I'M IN.A HURRY

'COS JAN'S JUST DISHING UP A CHICKEN CURRY

haha ,brilliant!.. i can, as we all can,..relate to your poem. Most of us are soposed to have a personality change after a brain injury.... i may have you will have to ask my kids but one thing i did not loose was my sense of humour and it keeps all going and it sounds like you havnt lost yours to my loveto.xx we all need a JAN in our lives. Your lucky.reward her well.

HI DAVIE - JUST SEEN THIS FOR 1ST TIME TONIGHT - 24/04/2014 - IT SAYS SO WELL WHAT I AND MANY OTHERS IN THE HERE AND NOW WOULD LIKE TO SAY TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS WHO DON'T OR WON'T UNDERSTAND HOW A BRAIN INJURY CAN AFFECT YOU AND YOUR CAPABILITIES.

SO YOU ARE 2.5 YEARS ON FROM WHEN YOU 1ST WROTE IT - HOW ARE YOU?

I UNDERSTAND PARTIALLY SIGHTED WO'NT NECESSARILY IMPROVE BUT HOPE YOU AND YOUR OH HAVE AN ACCEPTABLE OR BETTER STILL GOOD QUALITY OF LIFE NOW.

I HOPE YOU WON'T MIND IF I COPY AND PASTE BITS THAT ARE RELEVANT TO ME SINCE MY BI, SO I CAN EMAIL TO A FEW PEOPLE WHO NEED TO UNDERSTAND AND I CAN'T EXPLAIN IN WAYS FOR THEM TO DO SO!

KEEP WELL - SHIRLEY.
