It's exactly my sort of place ; beautiful green surroundings with a historic feel and (unless you've ushered them all out of camera shot) no one else to spoil the view. I'll have to show you our local beauty spots one day, especially the river walks & surrounding areas.

I'm a seriously wet lettuce in this heat though ; since Bi can't deal with anything over 20° so I'm indoors with curtains closed in front of my large fan. 🥴 But I had a nice surprise last night at11pm when I went out to feed the fox. My fox was there waiting, as was a hedgehog ! (hadn't seen a hedgehog in 30 years) 🦔 - quite a treat.

Great video Andy. Love to you all... E x

We were there very early, there was genuinely nobody else around! It was really lovely. We were actually on our way to somewhere else and just chanced upon it. So, we went for a look and dropped very lucky indeed!

We'd absolutely love to see more of your locality, had a great time last week and thought Sale was rather nice after what little we saw! And Ho

Hollie wouldn't need asking twice, obviously 😃

By the way, we LOVE hedgehogs! Just beautiful creatures!

Hope you're well, sending our love x

...forgot to say I finished your book a few days ago and really enjoyed the read this time. I guess I rushed it a bit first time round to see how you got to be where you ended up. But now we're better acquainted in the real world I could visualize you in all those precarious (but often hilarious) situations, and I was gripped. 😲

The Siegfried - Siefried - Seaweed was so funny, made more so by the fact you addressed her as Seaweed in person ..and no offence taken ! ...I could go on with the delights of your misadventures.. It's a brilliantly balanced account of a serious brain injury and the aftermath (you could be dead) and your inimitable humour. It should be serialised on the Beeb as a follow up to the original 'Auf Wiedersehen' ! xx

Do you know, after all this time (22 years since it was published) it's nice to have some feedback! I'd genuinely forgotten the Seaweed saga, it's been a long time! :) Lovely to know that it is an enjoyable read (allegedly! :D) and I really would love somebody put there to have a read and take it seriously, but I haven't got the clout to be heard, sadly...

Oh, by the way, I'm still in touch with Claudia, the nurse who helped out my family all that time ago.

Hope the smiles have cheered you and you're keeping well.

Let's just say I came away from it feeling I'd been there in E.Germany and met all those people/seen all those sights (& sites !)

There's supposed to be a book in all of us and I've tried several times in my life to produce something similarly tragic/comic. But it takes more determination, sweat & tears than I've ever managed to muster.

Quite an achievement sir ! xx

You are a darling!

I really would love to say that there was an incredible amount of blood, sweat and tears that went into Almost' but alas, I'd be lying. I was a year post coma. sitting around 'rehabilitating' and just decided to write. It was all still very fresh in my mind and I just sat and wrote. From memory, in between hospital; visits and life, it took about five months. It's my mother that needed the medal for reading my scrawl and typing the entire manuscript!

Give it a go, you strike me as the determined kind :)

No chance unless I live to be 110. My short term memory/word recall are abysmal so I'd be spending most of my time trawling through a thesaurus just to find words I already know !

Your mum typed the lot ; that's a true labour of love. What a star ! But the words are yours as is the humour so take credit where it's due - no more argument.

Just recovered from heaving too much shopping (again) in this 30 ° heat. Thought I'd 'nip out' for a few 'bits' after the rush hour but ended up staggering home like a overloaded mule (again) 🥺. Off to water the garden and make some dinner...

Love to you all xxx

Thanks for capturing the glorious sunshine and scenery. It made me smile. You’re right....there is nothing more you could want!
