6. Diabetes Management

Adding turmeric to your daily menu is the best natural treatment for high blood sugar and reversing insulin resistance.

In 2009, a study published in Biochemistry and Biophysical Research Communications and conducted at the Auburn University evaluated the ability of turmeric to reverse diabetes.

It was found that turmeric is 400 times more potent than Metformin, a common drug prescribed to diabetics, in activating AMPK, which improves insulin sensitivity and helps in reversing type 2 diabetes.

Curcumin corrects the causes of diabetes and reverses issues related to insulin resistance and hyperglycemia.

For instance, let’s take diabetic neuropathy and retinopathy. Diabetes causes severe complications, and one of the most common is damaged blood vessels, which can cause blindness. Another study found that curcumin can delay this complication, due to its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

But my method is very simple....

just peel haldi....cut it to appropriate size... add lemon juice...and salt.... keep for one day... next day add ready made pickle masala.... keep the mixture for one daay....

next day add mustard oil(heat the cool to room temp)...oil should cover everything and should about one cms above the material.

pickle is ready :P

After adding lemon and salt do we have to drain out the water ?

Do we have to dry the curcumins because wouldn't the water in fresh haldi spoil the pickle ?

Which other oil can we use ? Groundnut or sesame ( white and or black - which one ) oil can be used ?

Lightly peel the raw turmeric or just wash it throughly. Chop it. Option of adding chopped Indian gooseberry. Take some organic cold pressed mustard oil. Heat in low flame. Add some mustard powder. Asefotedia. Red chilli powder. Some turmeric powder if so needed. Some curry leaves. On heating it all lightly add the chopped turmeric and Gooseberry. Also salt as per taste .

Cool it. It's ready .

Spices have been widely used as food flavorings and folk medicines for thousands of years. Numerous studies have documented the antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects of spices, which might be related to prevention and treatment of several cancers, including lung, liver, breast, stomach, colorectum, cervix, and prostate cancers. Several spices are potential sources for prevention and treatment of cancers, such as Curcuma longa (tumeric), Nigella sativa (black cumin), Zingiber officinale (ginger), Allium sativum (garlic), Crocus sativus (saffron), Piper nigrum (black pepper) and Capsicum annum (chili pepper), which contained several important bioactive compounds, such as curcumin, thymoquinone, piperine and capsaicin. The main mechanisms of action include inducing apoptosis, inhibiting proliferation, migration and invasion of tumors, and sensitizing tumors to radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
