Hi guys, still havent had a letter but been self isolating for over a week. There is so much conflicting advice regarding CLL and coronavirus. I have my husband living with me,my 2 boys have moved out a few years ago,i havent seen them since 8 days ago. On nhs website it says for me to be shielding, which i am, but then it also says my husband should sleep in a different room, keep 3 steps away from me,and avoid being in the kitchen together. He stopped working last week due to the risk to me. I really dont understand, on other sites it doesnt mention sleeping apart. Anyone going through the same thing??

i'm pretty sure the sleeping apart is if one of you is infected or suspected infected.

I’m not sleeping apart but the briefing tonight on tv suggested it was preferable. However, my husband is isolating with me so difficult to keep apart from each other completely. If he was still working or had symptoms, I would however.

We can only do the best we can within our capabilities and personal situation Jenny. We are not all isolating in castles or country estates!

I love all your replies. I really like this one. It is myself(I am the one with the CLL) , my husband and TWO grown sons, 26 and 29yrs old. All three eat like horses😃 everyone is getting a little grumpy. I stay up late, when they are all asleep 😴. Then I put my earplugs in go to my room and sleep. We live in a one floor home, but luckily our basement is finished. Bedroom, bathroom, office. I almost forgot about Jack (our Silky Terrier) I just repeat to myself "Lord give me strength and a whole LOT of patience". Take care, stay well.

I have untreated cll for 10 years now just a bloke with a high WBC anyway I would love to know which group I am in.

I have been out twice this week on my bike kept well away from people also went to a running track to work out today no one was around it was good.

Should I not be going out at all ? things are as clear as Mud.

Jules, you are not just a guy ‘with a high WBC’. You have a long standing dx of CLL, you may be untreated but you’ve not been without issues and are clearly immune compromised. Plus you’ve got high b/p and had episodes of AF as I recall (we’ve known each other a long time!). Plus I seem to remember your platelets are low and treatment was on the agenda at one point.

Ring your GP or haematologist and ask where your letter is would be my advice.

And yes you should really be staying in but discuss this with your doctor.

We're not sleeping apart, although I do have some sort of viral infection going on & I do make sure I go asleep facing away from her.

I've suggested on a couple of occasions to her that maybe I should sleep in another room & she not too keen on this.

I suppose over the years you get used to sleeping together & it becomes very difficult to contemplate anything else after 48 years, but I keep my fingers cross that what I have isn't Covid 19 &I'm not infecting her.

I'm really unsure too! I am very well at the mo, W and W, and haven't picked up any infections for over a year so I think my immune system is doing something right!

I am isolating at home, not seeing anyone outside my household, but I am going out every day for a walk and taking my kids on their bikes. I am also homeschooling them every day, so if the advice is that I should self isolate even within our 2 bedroom house this would wreak havoc in our family. Obviously we would try to make it work if it's necessary but I haven't had a letter and don't know if I fall into the same category as a CLLer who has had treatment. I think I'll ring my nurse tomorrow to get some clarity!

Stay well everyone!
