Checking medication
Hi, I was chatting to a colleague today about their restless legs which have been unbearable lately. Their doctor put them on Perindopril for high blood pressure, Amiodipine- a calcium channel blocker, and Fenofibrate for high cholesterol. He thought they made his legs so much worse (his doctor doesn't

Cough
I’ve had a persistent, dry and unproductive cough for a good while now. When the many bouts of coughing occur, they are uncontrollable and go on for at least a minute. They are exhausting. They are much worse at night so I am not sleeping well. My cardio nurse suggested that I contact my GP as perindopril

Subarachnoid Hemorrhage & Tinnitus
Hi I had a Subarachnoid hemorrhage 4 weeks ago with no Aneurysms or other abnormalities found after an Angiogram. I feel very lucky & grateful to be one of the lucky ones. I've been taking 5mg of Amlodipine for 2 weeks to stop BP peaking & have since had mild tinnitus. I'm seeing GP next week for BP

Amlodipine
I had extra high blood pressure & I was given Amlodipine, within 1-2 weeks, my tinnitus was a lot louder & going up, I then stopped taken it and my tinnitus went back down to the past noise level. I then googled it and also found on here, numerous issues with Amlodipine & Tinnitus increasing & spikes

Gynecomastia
18 months ago I developed gynecomastia of my left breast. I was on several medications but when I switched from amlodipine (5 mgs per day) to lisinopril (5 mgs per day) the gynecomastia resolved within 6 weeks. Has anyone had this side effect from taking amlodipine?

Sotalol ..... Part 2

Insurance company issues
Hi everyone. I'm new to this so I've no idea whether anyone can advise me. I've recently been told I need bypass surgery and it's apparently quite urgent. I've got private health insurance (since 2021, never used), but when I contacted them they said that because I've been on statins since 2015 and am

just checking I'm doing the right thing...
I've been taking amlodipine 10mg as well as atorvastatin 20mg for 18 months. I've 2 fairly straightforward questions: I've been told that the statin can contribute to lowering bp, as its effect is to lower my cholesterol. Is that correct? Secondly, my understanding is that the liver is most active

Doxazosin and anxiety
My GP recently changed my BP meds from 5mg Amlodipine to 1mg Doxazosin as my BP was going a bit low and causing light headedness. Since being on the Doxazosin I have been suffering some anxiety over quite unimportant stuff, very out of character for me. I also feel my heart pounding quite alot when I'm
