Steroid myopathy
I saw a post mentioning steroid
myopathy
which I'd not come across before. I've had PMR for 2 1/2 years and gave had several flares. I'm presently on 7mg but am extremely stiff in my thighs.

Proximal Myopathy
Is anyone else suffering with proximal
myopathy
affecting back, neck shoulder muscles and joints? I'm fed up of the pain despite physio exercises and swimming at a gentle pace. Will it ever go away? Diagnosed with Autoimmune Thyrotoxicosis in September and now in erythroid range.

Steroid induced myopathy
My rheumatologist seems to think the PMR might have burnt out and I possibly have steroid induced
myopathy
. The aches and stiffness is in similar areas to before. Does anyone have any experience in this?

RAI failure... worse than previously.. advice please
Now worse hyper than I've had for ages, including thyrotoxic
myopathy
which was so bad I couldn't get out of a chair. Really stressed about this- I'm 51 and usually fit and active. Currently trying to get back stable on carbimazole and propranolol and fed up!

Acute steroid myopathy
One of my many Dr Google searches stumbled accross an article on acute steroid
myopathy
which presents as specific stiffness in the hips and shoulders and aside general absence of pain, is very difficult to distinguish from PMR.

Latest Levels 18 months after heart attack.
The doctor says I probably have statin induced
myopathy
and nerve damage as I cannot get rid of chest discomfort.the last few weeks I have had palpitations and I am generally feeling at my lowest I have felt. 18 months is a long time to feel so crap.

The effects of alcohol on polymyalgia/myotisis
After a consultation last wk: Likely Seronegative idiopathic inflammatory
myopathy
- (bloods & imaging). Muscle biopsy non conclusive PMR (probably because I had been on pred for 3yrs). Anyone know anything about that?! I stopped drinking all alcohol at the beginning of the year.

2nd Ablation
Atrial
Myopathy
hence Av Node ablation should be done if AF recurs. The trouble is the AF episodes getting picked up by the PM in first place. When I've had them nothing seems shows on their end. The last one leading to this was picked by chance at the in person PM check.

Hello and Pred dose increase?
Could it be steroid
myopathy
and if so what does one do about it? I’m due to see my rheumatologist again in a couple of weeks but would welcome your wisdom. Appreciate any advice from you experts out there. Thank you.

How is RLS diagnosed?
However, constant pain whether severe or not is *not* RLS and should be investigated by a physician as soon as possible to screen for for fibromyalgia,
myopathy
and other conditions which have nothing to do with RLS/PLMD.

With my diabetic related
myopathy
and neuropathy (I've been a diabetic for 63 years), I'm running no risk of any muscle pain or weakness from statin side-effects. I am now 73. PS: 75% of people who have heart attacks do not have high cholesterol levels (International Journal of Nanomedicine, 2019).

Endocrinologist wants me to taper faster
She said it was steroid
myopathy
. Although she said steroid
myopathy
doesn't normally produce pain, it can because it damages muscle fibers, and then activity can cause aches and tenderness.

How to join Myositis UK
Hi, I have been suffering from statin induced necrotising
myopathy
for over 3 years. During this time I have tried to join the Myositis UK charity by sending the form on their web site, and by calling the number on their web site but I never get a response and the phone is never answered.
