Running in circles
I will try and make this the short version. My husband has advanced prostate cancer 4+5=9 (Gleason 9). One year ago it metastasized to the T9. He had radiation to the spot. In the meantime, he has had severe pain in the neck area. after scans, they said it was from an injury. (he has never had an injury

Father with Stage 4 prostate cancer in 8 bones.
On 10/25/22 I took my dad (79 at the time) to the ER at the VA for escalating back pain and we walked out with a stage 4 prostate cancer diagnosis. When I brought him to the ER I expected them to tell me he had lung cancer as he is a lifelong smoker. Additionally, I had been worried about him all year

Annual Scans
Hubby is having his annual scans today. Doc ordered CT and bone scan as in the past to compare "apples to apples".At what point should a pet scan be done? Which tracer? His PSA has been in the undetectable range and he is feeling fine besides the regular side effects to the meds.

Risk vs reward in clinical trials
Morning folks, I just finished reading my clinical protocol consent paperwork and don’t get the good warm feeling that the risk is worth the reward. This trial is through Sarah Cannon Research and involves a first in human investigational drug called TAK 280. It utilizes an approach already in clinical

What should I do - follow-ups not feeling thorough
Hi everyone, before I start my question I want to send out love to everyone on here and I really wish being well for everyone. I wish there wasn’t a load of experts on here because it means we are all in this. I was diagnosed in 2022 - they thought they would find ovarian but they were surprised to

treatment side effects vs cancer side effects
”Pain” vs “discomfort” in abdomen region following radiation and on Lupron- is it side effects or the cancer itself? Dad was diagnosed November 2023 and received radiation for 5 weeks that ended Jan 3rd. Started Lupron end of November. Cancer has spread to part of hip bone and pelvic lymph nodes.

After some Advice
Hi all, I was hoping to get some advice. I have been on AS sonce December 2021 and am due for a PSA and MRI next month. Following this my urologist said that a follow up biopsy may be required. My Question should I also ask for a PMSA, I have read that this type of imagining picks up smaller lesions

Chronic pain after prostatectomy
My friend had robotic prostatectomy in May 2019. In the almost 5 years since he has experienced daily abdominal pain. He has seen numerous doctors but none of them have been able to diagnose the source of the pain. He is an invalid due to this problem. Does anyone else know of a similar case? Any

TruQap progress-lower TM
I posted about beginning this newly approved FDA drug in December. My blood tests last week showed that my TM dropped by 135 points. This is added to the Fulvestrant jabs I started around spring 2023. The combination seems to be going well so far. I was previously on Ibrance for several years until

Changing the name of cancer...would speed up research
I thought it wasn't something that had an impact, but thanks to the patience of an acquaintance of mine who works in clinical research, I finally understood the significance of what some newspapers (Italian and European, but maybe in the USA as well) are saying about the need to change the names of various

update on sore Nipple!
so did go to see the Dr who agreed my breasts were quite tricky to diagnose due to the amount of scar tissue from previous mammoplasty - initially felt the tenderness was maybe due to simple fibroadinoma but wasn’t certain - so I was fast tracked to Derriford and my appointment is this afternoon. Interestingly
