Heart Failure concerns
Hi all, I'm concerned I may have heart failure. I was diagnosed with paroxysmal AF almost 12 months ago and am due to go for a check up at Cardiology in 6 weeks. As I understand AF most people seem to feel fine in between bouts of AF, whereas I feel tired, have a bloated belly, persistent slight cough

COPD
So I saw the doctor today and he said it’s not an infection, it’s COPD progressing. He said that it’s end stage severe. His lungs are not functioning correctly and now needs 24 hour oxygen at 4.... what does all this mean?!? He also has heart failure

Cheap, quick test identifies pneumonia patients at risk of respiratory failure or sepsis.
Spanish researchers in Valencia have identified specific fragments of genetic material that play a role in the development of respiratory failure and sepsis in pneumonia patients. Presenting the research at the European Respiratory Society International Congress [1] today (Wednesday), Dr Francisco Sanz

AF to CHF to Hospice
Hello All! It’s been a while. I write here for my mother who is now 93 hrs old. She’s had AF for over 30 yrs now. She went into end stage congestive heart failure the beginning of this year, so her doctor put her on Hospice. They are giving her comfort care now and she is actually doing a bit better

Fingerprick blood test failure
Tried a to do a fingerprick blood sample this morning for my Thriva blood test. Followed all the instructions to the letter: dinking lots of water at least 30 mins beforehand (woke up bleary eyed in the pitch dark to glug down a pint of water), warming the hand for 3 mins in warm water, massage, arm

Kidney transplant
My husband’s GFR was 15 on his last blood test. The doctor is saying he should go on a transplant list. I heard that the immune suppressant drugs after the surgery are brutal. Those of you who’ve had transplants, (or knew someone who has) what was your/their experience? Thank you in advance ❤️

Rant
Spent 2weeks in hospital end July early August with chest infection . Kept telling doctors my feet /legs were swollen but this was glossed over/ ignored. GP just done Pro BNP blood test which has come back abnormal (1148 ng/l) which I believe is high. He is referring me to Cardiology re heart failure

Antiarrhthmic drugs working great, but scheduled for ablation
Thank you to everyone for this wonderful forum. My husband, 56, started getting more and more out of breath and fatigued in November and December of last year. Finally he went to the ER (we are in the US) on January 2. He was in AF and his heart rate was 180 but they got it down to between 130 and

Chronic cough post-ablation
I had my cryo-ablation In early July. Since that time, I have had an intermittent, hacking cough. Sometimes it starts up in the morning when I wake up, other times it comes on in the middle of the day. I will have these coughing “fits” for several hours at a time. Anyone else experienced this?
