Uncontrolled Asthma, repeated asthma attacks every day. Do I have bronchiectasis?
Ventolin
used to be helpful but I need at least three puffs to have any effect and often need more than six with spacer to control my many attacks. Unfortunately I am so susceptible to coughing that small inhalations of an inhaler result in coughing fits that exacerbate my asthma.

Detoxing off steroid inhaler... Fostair?! Anybody had experience of this?
Hi All, Does anyone have any experience of coming off steroid inhalers particularly fostair, it didn't agree with me at all, so had to come off it after taking doses for 2 days, but breathing has become quite difficult, which it wasn't when I went on it and I just used to take the blue

When do I... 🤔🤔
If you have needed 10 consecutive puffs of
ventolin
(and it has lasted over 4 hours) you should also see your GP as you may need steroids. If you are needing 2 puffs of
ventolin
and it is not lasting 4 hours then you need to see your GP urgently.

I am confused what to do after an attack
I managed to turn it around with
Ventolin
, 7 puffs, and then I gradually recovered over the next one or two three days. It is all behind me. But I now see that Asthma U.K. suggest following up with a GP. I didn’t, didn’t feel the need unlike those times when I slide into it.

A change to my normal Asthma pattern
Hi all Since October when i have been locked down reasonable constantly and living in a centrally heated house, my breathing is far worse - the Clenil is not preventing and the
Ventolin
not giving its usual relief I also have an itchy face (no rash) and i mention it as the timing is correlated with

Struggling with Covid and asthma.
This is despite being on 40mg of pred since Monday plus max dose of Fostair, Spiriva, montelukast and loads of
Ventolin
. Phoned 111 last night and they told me to go to A&E. Sats were 84 when after I walked in there but improved a bit when I had been sat down a while.

Expecting too much when I’m unfit?
Ventolin
as my reliever as required. Overall I thought I was doing a bit better, apart from a saga with a smoking oven over Christmas and a cough on a night but nothing too bad.

Taking my Fostair daily, but literally on my
ventolin
every hour. Was so bad last night I had to sit upright until 630am. Have taken steroids, but the relief is minimal and short lived.

Sudden asthma attack
For a moment I thought I would end up needing help, but 7 puffs of
Ventolin
later it started to lift and I became a bit more human again. Since then I couldn’t wait to get to bed due to exhaustion. /This is a new experience for me, so sudden and so significant. I can’t say I liked it!

Quick question
I also have
ventolin
as needed. 1. My evening dose of Fostair isn’t due for an hour (I try to take it about 12 hours apart) but I’ve been dry coughing a little for about an hour so could I take the evening dose now - 2 puffs? 2. Could the start of coughing be a sign that my inhaler is due?

Asthma Flare-Up
Chest has been tight and
Ventolin
relieves it but then wears off. Have managed to get an Appointment with my Asthma Nurse tomorrow. She did mention on the previous Phonecall that they would possibly prescribe Antibiotics or Steroids.

Inhalers
So I was using the
ventolin
more than a few times a week. I feel however that I’m generally less short of breath on exertion and that this coughing blip has started more with the cold weather, and possibly mold in the house.

Finishing pred
Am using
ventolin
every 4 hours as instructed but it’s not really lasting so am just managing things by staying still a lot. PF is just under 80% of best but doesn’t usually drop a lot unless I have a chest infection. At what point should I speak to my GP again?
