Glucose and blood in urine
Just had a routine urine test which came up with glucose and blood present. I've been told they will give me a blood test if it happens again in the next test which is going to be in 3 weeks. Has anyone else had this before and what happened? I have been more thirsty than usual recently I just blamed

OHSS
10 weeks pregnant and still suffering from what I believe is ohss pain. My gp sent a urine sample for tests which came back clear. I still have a sharp pain particularly when I urinate. I've been discharged from the ivf clinic and am now in between seeing my gp and first antenatal appointment. My gp

Potassium and levels....range?
Hi I just checked my potassium levels in my blood results. I noticed that the range is mmol/L 3.5 TO 5.0 and my last two were 6.6 and 5.4. My doc mentioned that one of the results was maybe as urine sample was old but could it be indicative of anything at all? I have Hashimotos. Thanks for any advice

ACTH test done but I want these other tests done
I had my ACTH Stim Test done this morning - although I only saw the nurse this is what I've found out: - The Endo/doctor will tell me the result when it comes back. - The nurse who carried out the test explained that the doctors aren't sure why I'm poorly and want to check my adrenal function - but

GP Appointment
I had my GP appointment today as things were just really getting me down. Here's what was said: It wasn't my usual doctor unfortunately who I came to see about my new symptoms, which was a shame but expected as my usual GP is very popular and is on call sometimes but I went into great detail about each

Hi I have Hashimotos and have just been tested positive for Andrenal antibodies in my latest blood test. Does this mean I have Addisons?
I have had Hashi's since I was a teenager and I also have Pernicious Anaemia, type 2 diabetes. My Endo has just informed that my blood has tested positive for Andrenal auto immune does this mean that I now have Addisons too? Over a year ago I had the 24 hour urine test also the test with the Pill I

Fibro/Thyroid/Cortisol....not sure if linkes
Hi All I was diagnosed with Fibro last year after a long battle to get my "sympotms" taken seriously by the GP etc. I am feeling more positive and better about the whole thing since I started taking Fluoxetine (amatriptalyne was a big no no for me!) but I still can't seem to lose weight (I don't eat

Irritable Bowel Syndrome & AF/SVT
This post was originally on the Arrhythmia Alliance site..... I have tried to convince my GP and Cardiologist for 2 years now, that food bears some connection to SVT for me anyway. Eventually I got a referral to a Gastroenterologist who did numerous blood and urine tests, before Christmas. Apparently

Why am I so abnormal?
I don't know what's wrong with me, I used to think I knew, but now I don't have any clue. I feel so lost and confused in myself, I can't even come up with a list of things that COULD be wrong, I'm that confused. (That sounded like some sort of poem or book, lol!) I take 80mg of codeine per day, 5000mg

Weekend from hell
My youngest is 10 years old, and my pains started before I had him, so I'm a veteran shall we say when it comes to pain, discomfort and the management of it. I'm now under the care of a brilliant team at the JR Hospital in Oxford, and have so far been diagnosed with Pelvic Congestion Syndrome, vast internal

The never-ending story of iodine - another chapter
Whilst we all know that iodine is critical to making thyroid hormone, and too little can be a “bad thing”, the real world uncertainty continues. Here we have one paper claiming that pregnant women in part of England are clearly deficient in iodine – and we should perform a national survey. (Note: They
