New, A Bit Scared, Would Appreciate Advice.
For background I've got Ehlers Danlos, a genetic connective tissue disorder which causes stretchy joints, skin, dislocations and a whole host of other fun things. Also underactive thyroid and B12 deficiency/ pernicious anemia and asthma. In spite of my issues I've always loved exercise, keeping fit

I'm on a high level of medication for my asthma I've been with lung specialist for 5 years, I was diagnosed with asthma in the 90s but it was mild enough for me to continue work, however as the years increased my asthma was starting to become a problem, well anyway now my asthma has become a real problem

Hi - I’m asthmatic and it’s always been mild for the most part (managed by salamol & clenil for my reliever and preventer). Whenever I get any form of respiratory illness it goes straight to my chest and I need steroids and antibiotics and have asthma exacerbations not really attacks. Since catching

NHS On The Ball As Ever, Not.
I recently wrote that at the end of February I spent the day in the emergency dept due to shortness of breath, I'd been advised to go there by the GP surgery. Anyway it was decided after lots of tests it was an exacerbation of my asthma, I was treated with a nebuliser, steroids and a stronger inhaler

Good morning all COPD Warriors, thankfully I am back home from now after a stay in hospital with pneumonia. whilst I was in hospital my Respiratory Nurses noticed that it was time for my nebuliser to be serviced as it had been 12 months

Looks Like My Cholesterol Is High, Yikes
I've spent the best part of the day at my local hospital today. I saw my GP as I'd been experiencing increasing shortness of breath over the last week or so and as I had pericarditis last summer I think they wanted to be sure it wasnt anything similar. So I got sent to the one stop shop aka SDEC, same

Oxygen levels
I have had COPD for around 15 years and it is getting steadily worse. I have the normal inhalers , have a air physio device, a nebuliser and recently have been accepted for oxygen therapy. On my last visit to hospital I was given the device that checks your oxygen levels. As I have only had this device

Recovering after hospital stay
I’m wondering if anyone can tell me what to expect next. I had Covid at the end of January. I felt very flu like for a couple of days then okay for a few days. After that I got a cold and a chesty cough. The cough was only occasional. At the end of last week I started to feel flu like again. I decided

Another Nebuliser question
Hi - I've been watching tthe discussions about nebulisers. For some time I have thought one might be helpful (COPD severe). My COPD team were fairly unhelpful but the respiritory nurse at my GP surgery as just prescribed some Salbutamol nebules. She is now away on holiday. I have bought myself a portable
