My Melanoma Story.
I was first diagnosed with Malignant
Melanoma
13 5 years ago, when I noticed an irregular shaped mole on the right side of my upper chest and went to see my GP, who decided to remove it. About a week later the Doctor rang me at work and told me the devastating news that I had Malignant
Melanoma

Best cover for...scars
My mum has a 7 inch scar across her stomach from a malignant
melanoma
. Again, it reads 'i kicked cancer's ass and I'm still going strong', but I've been with her through the bikini shopping and strolls on the beach (not in Britain unfortunately!) and know how self conscious she has felt.

Hi, does anyone know if it is safe to take vitamin D supplements if you have PV?
As well as PV I had malignant
melanoma
3 years ago & since then for obvious reasons have avoided the sun at all costs & use a high factor sunscreen all year round. My hair started to fall out about 9 months ago (there is very little left now) & I am wondering if this is due to lack of vitamin D.

New campaign calling for a UK ban on sunbeds is set up following the huge success of a similar campaign in Australia
Working in collaboration, Mark Carter, a stage 4 Malignant
Melanoma
patient and Emma Stevens, who lost two friends to malignant
melanoma
(and both owned sunbeds/lamps) have called for the UK Government to ban them.

'Patients with CLL are at higher risk of developing

How important is it that I find out if I have gorlins??
My mother nearly 60 has been diagnosed after multiple bccs, jaw cysts and
melanoma
. I am 33 feel well with 2 small boys. After 9 months waiting my genetic appointment had come thru. I'm quite tempted to not attend. Do I need to know? And how will it's implications affect me (insurance) etc???

A fortnight of Hell
On the 11th of September the husband of a dear friend died of
Melanoma
cancer. It all happened very quickly. She has also had treatment for breast cancer, and she has M.S. He was her sole carer.

Do you have problems healing?
I had a skin graft in January due to a malignant
melanoma
(possibly linked to MMF) and the donor site is refusing to heal. I am 8 weeks post op and the nurses in the plastics clinic have tried everything they can think of. Does anyone have any suggestions please?

Hello!
I tested positive to the EGFR mutation, which I thought I would as I have already had and survived a malignant
melanoma
. Both my parents have had and survived cancer, sadly an aunt and uncle didn't, they were a similar age to what I am now (50).
