Hi Everyone, As I have reported on here, I am in the very slow process of lobbying to get an extension of my allocation of TCZ. This will take ages, I know … Federal Parliament is sitting at the moment, an election is looming, and our current Health Minister is retiring after the election. Not a good

Help! What to do after faecal disimpaction
Hello, I'm new to this chat. I have a 3 year old who is currently going through faecal disimpaction. We are on about day 3, seems to be going according to plan. My question is, once all the blocked up poo has been removed and he poo is watery/bitty, can I just encourage lots of fluids and give him prune

Hi, Does anyone have any long-term experience of using high-fiber Psyllium capsules for IBS constipation?
I have just started using them and they seem to help with bowel movements although I am unsure about bloating and abdominal pain!

Long overdue 'anti alcohol report'
Morning, I hope you find this relevant. It's been seen as a watershed proclamation. The so called benefits of small amounts alcohol (especially wine) have been touted for centuries when it comes to cardiovascular health. Four days ago the World Heart Federation officially changed the message. Unequivocally

Desperate need for advice, I am having to pull out of university because of persistent GI problems!
Hi there, I would be very grateful for any advice, For around 6 months I have been having ongoing GI problems. In this time I have had three quite severe flare-ups, two of which involved A&E visits however nothing was found (I am too used to this). My main symptoms are severe abdominal pain and nausea

AV Node Ablation Update
Hello and Happy and Healthy New Year to everyone Thought I’d update you on my current situation. I had a Pacemaker fitted on June 30th as the first stage of Pace and Ablate after my third ablation failed in Sept 2020 and drugs didn’t help. The AV node ablation was meant to be 4-6 weeks after the PaceMaker

Stories from a Hospital volunteer - "From major to minor"
Monday 6th December As some of you know, I occasionally write up a story or two from my Volunteering at a London Hospital, my role being a “Ward Musician.” But in Covid times I'm restricted to the use of a Blue-tooth speaker and the use of the Spotify App to search for patients’ musical requests. But

Hello. So my brother has been weaned off sedation abit. However he has been becoming distressed- not surprising as he has a tube down his throat and the nurses have told him where he is. He is still not fully unsedated - his partner is struggling as she showed him a picture of their daughter but he was

Extreme Dizziness and shaking.
Got up from the settee last night and had a really bad dizzy spell which lasted for an hour and came in waves of shaking and extreme panic and unable to walk for fear of falling down. Settled down and feel normal this morning. Phoned for ambulance then cancelled when I felt better. Tested positive for

Brother due a tracheostomy
Hi. So update is that my brother is due a tracheostomy but will have to be last in theatre as he is in a covid ward. Apparently one of the nurses slightly reduced his sedation and he was following her around the room with his eyes. She then put his partner on the phone and she was talking to him and

To Everyone:
This is a thank you to all who informed and encouraged me concerning the bone marrow aspiration I had this morning. I wasn't nervous at all. The procedure went extremely well. It took about ten minutexperiencinges, and there was no pain -- none. I won't find out the results for ten days. And, for

Has anyone tried low dose naltrexone? How did it go for you?
Apparently it can lower TPO antibodies, which in my case, even after removing gluten, dairy and soy, are very high (960). Has anyone tried this?

Toilet training issues Vs constipation
Seriously at my wits end. We're waiting for a consultation with bladder and bowels service, but my four year old son's soiling is still happening multiple times a day and has been ever since we started toilet training over 18 months ago. Nothing works. He's on movicol twice a day, toilet routine etc

New to this and very anxious!
I am increasingly anxious about whether or not I have IBS (or something like IBD?). I have been struggling to register with a GP due to recently moving house and apparently they have too much work to get around to registering new patients, meaning I can only access healthcare via the emergency care routes

Filling in the blanks
Spoke to my mum again at length about my road accident and my injuries. She told me I were extremely lucky to survive as I needed urgent surgery after I'd been hit and I was unconscious throughout the ordeal they kept me in intensive care to monitor the bleed on my head..I knew none of this until today
