To come off Hydroxychoroquine with No alternative drug replacement for it.
So, she had a look and said she was happy for me to stop as long I continue on my
calcium
. Which I have been all this time. Then after discussion with consultant they decided that I am to come off my Hydroxychoroquine totally.

Because of the possibility of
calcium
deposits I believe vitamin K2 puts the
calcium
into the bone and am considering taking this. I shall also be asking for the results of the bone density scan after reading many of your reports.

update part two!
To be honest it sounds like the consultant thinks I have already had my
calcium
ct scan results, which I haven’t! He said some calcifications doesn’t always mean heart disease - I didn’t know I had calcifications as I haven’t had the results.

Calcium, confused
Yes, many posts on
calcium
, to take or not to take. Tall Allen has posted research results on the efficacy and stated that
calcium
supplements are not necessary if your levels are correct from a blood test.My level of
calcium
in 2021 was low in spite of using a Mediteranean diet and no supplements.

Supplement schedule query - which should be taken apart from others?
I've always had low ferritin and months ago started Simply Heme iron supplements, which are supposed to be easier to absorb, and blocked only by
calcium
. I'm now wondering if anyone can advise on my current supplement schedule, in case any of them are blocking absorption of any others?!

Does anyone take Vit K2 to help with bones?
I have had a slightly raised
calcium
level for more than 20 years. Consultant is not perturbed, as it never 'spikes' and is tested regularly. I do not take
calcium
along with Pred for the above reason. I understand that vit K2 helps to put
calcium
into bones and not leave it in blood vessels etc.

From RA to Lupus. High dose pred questions.
Should he be taking
calcium
and vit D supplements? And if so, which would people recommend? Also he has high blood pressure which is currently sort of controlled by amplopidine (5mg) - does anyone have experience of this?

Encephalopathy (HE), a visit to an ancient brain
When I was delivered to the ER due to critical
calcium
levels I was at risk for a heart attack and/or kidney damage. It was a clear emergency and I'm fortunate to have suffered no long term damage to either organ. I credit my wife for acting when I was not capable of much rational thought.

Night sweats etc.
Doctor blames pred of course for my condition but he has only recently put me on Vit D,/
calcium
and alendronic acid tablets. Thinking he should have put me on these tablets from the start. So glad for this forum for others with this condition.

K2 supplement
Having read on this forum that
calcium
/D3 is best supplemented with K2 to aid absorption, I've been taking it with my (prescribed) iCal D3 chewable tablets for some years.

radiation whack-a-mole?
In 2021 I had cyberknife radiation to new lesions in spinal vertebrae L3 and T9, which knocked the cancer back but also weakened the bone and led to compression fractures, to harden the bone I'm now also getting an Xgeva (bisphospehante) injection every 90 days, along with a ton of
calcium
every day.

My
calcium
prescribed tablets have multiple artificial sugars which I want to avoid. Can anyone recommend a make that doesn’t have them? Preferably
calcium
citrate as on Omeprazole. Thank you.

Graves Disease, Hyperthyroidism and Supplements
Supplements taken: vitamin D apple cider tablets turmeric
calcium
magnesium When I was diagnosed with Graves Disease and Hyperthyroidism I stop taking all supplements. The TSH reduced 50%. Is possible that the supplements were the cause of the disease? Thank you, Vanbr
