Migraine Medication
I have tried
amitriptyline
, nortriptyline, topirimate etc but can't tolerate these drugs. I now use rizatriptan when the migraine starts and it does stop it though it often comes back and I have to take a second and sometimes a third dose over three days.

Menses, Mtx and Menopause..…
The mood stuff I’ve always had issues with as I have C-PTSD so no indicator there… Weight gain I started with a few years ago, which I put down to starting
Amitriptyline
and Covid hibernation (CEV). So, dear readers, have I had the menopause??

My Story for private endocrinologist - what Qs to ask? 🤔
-On low dose 20mg
amitriptyline
for chronic insomnia, this works well but can feel lethargic and zoned out in the morning and has had no effect on fatigue. -For heavy periods I take tranexamic acid -Unexplained digestive issues investigated (letter).

During the consultation, it was agreed that I come off
Amitriptyline
as it had no effect on the burning, prickling, stinging and nipping, especially from the waist down. I thought I would get feedback after the blood test results but haven't heard.

POST-HERPETIC NEURALGIA
I am now seeing a consultant at the pain management centre, she has prescribed me
Amitriptyline
. This doesn't seem to be having much impact on the pain, I take this last thing at night and in the morning it feels like I have a hangover (without the benefit of the drink!).

Diltiazem and Flecainide Reaction with other Meds.
Has anyone here taken any of the tricyclic antedepressants (
amitriptyline
, nortriptyline, desipramine etc.) with their heart drugs?Any ill effects? The dosage of the Nortripyline is so small I just wonder if there would be any significant interaction. Any comments would be appreciated. Mary

Tricyclic antidepressants , amitriptyline in particular, delay the need for dopaminergic therapy in early Parkinson’s disease.

Checkup of multinodular goitre at ENT
I’m taking
amitriptyline
for the insomnia, by far my worst symptom. It is helping me sleep 12-7 but has had no effect on my fatigue, brain fog, cognition, aches, digestive issues, cold, jittery and other symptoms. Now I’m groggy in the mornings too!

Tension headache
I then got
amitriptyline
which did nothing. The doc has now said they can't do anymore for me. I feel awful all the time, it never goes away.

I have suffered from RLS for several years and various doctors have prescribed all the general medicines starting with antidepressants (
amitriptyline
, mirtazapine, imipramine, and citralopram), dopramine agonists (ropinirole, pramipexole and rotigotine patches) and a2d ligands (gabapentin.

Back, Shoulder, Knee & Hand Joint Pain.
I can't sleep at night for the pain I am taking Co-Codamol, Naproxen and
Amitriptyline
. I have even started on HRT as that is supposed to help with joint pain. I have took cocodamol for many years and I don't think it has much of an effect now.

PMR/GCA or not
Not Tramadol, not
Amitriptyline
, not Pregabalin.... I haven't had any GCA symptoms for a year now. I feel I'm on the mend. So in my mind this is now an academic question. What was it then?

sciatica, drugs and outcomes
I have taken both
Amitriptyline
and Gabapentin both did not work. I put on 3 and a half stone with
Amitriptyline
which did not help at all. Have multi problems myself, crushed nerves in ,my spine causing incontinence with urine and having an operation as could go to back passage.

GnRH Injections & Mirena Coil
I already take
Amitriptyline
30mg ON & she has said I can increased to 40mg & then 50mg if I need too. I also have the Mirena Coil (I had this replaced during surgery so have had one non stop for 7 years now and I don't bleed whatsoever).

Coming off Amitriptyline
I have been on
amitriptyline
for the past 12 years to help with fibro and insomnia. My dose was 10 mgs. I have never felt well. Always groggy but put up with it as I had tried a lot of other drugs but could not tolerate them.
