TSH dropping, but FT4 stuck
I started levothyroxine on 10th August on 25mcg, then went up to 50mcg in September, then 75mcg Nov and I'm now alternating 75/100mcg every day. My TSH has dropped considerably, however my FT4 has got stuck at the very bottom end of normal and doesn't seem to be rising despite me increasing the dose

taking thyroxin
hi jack I used to take mine in the morning. But have changed it to just before bedtime No coffee or tea for an hour before you take them Caffeine stops the thyroxin working fully So I’m told I also don’t eat anything after 9 and take the tablets around 12 midnight I have found it works

I’m only on second round of six total. So far, labs are looking good except LDH is slightly higher than normal. I, like you, ask my oncologist for info. Mostly, I focus on how am I doing today…. What’s my energy level, status of my hands and feet (hand and foot syndrome for which I use Voltaren

Suspected Pernicious Anemia - what next?
Hello, I am very glad to have found this forum as I have been researching B12D and PA a lot recently. I became familiar with the society’s website and found it so helpful. I am 29F in the US and I suspect I have Pernicious Anemia. This is what I know so far (sorry in advance if this post rambles on)

Liothyronin T3 and insulin resistance
I’ve been doing some research as my blood sugar levels (measured by HbA1C) have been persistently high despite exercise, low carb diet, weight loss and muscle gain. Prompted by the very wise SlowDragon that T3 can cause high sugars, I decided to delve deeper. I came across a lot of articles online

Weird feelings following reduced dose of thyroxine
A few weeks ago my thyroxine dose was reduced from 100 to 75mg. I had no warning, just a decision my GP made. I've been on various doses over the years, but 100 was felt to be the correct one for me. The past few days, I've been feeling like I'm shaky and unsteady. I've been giddy when bending over

Iron levels checked
Had an iron panel completed. 2 important numbers. Ferritin 102, saturation 29 percent. Now what. Dr says both normal. Every test I take, everything comes back normal so why have I had RLS since childhood and at 76 getting 2-3 hours sleep because I have to walk the floors all night and getting worse and

T4 and T3
Hi all,I was wondering if you have had your thyroid removed do you still need Levo? I am having some problems since on levo and lio. I was self medicating with lio only and was doing OK, not great, but better than I am now. I have an appointment at Christies in two weeks and could do with some more

Confounded by two different results for MMA test. One negative, one positive
About six weeks ago husband took a Medichecks MMA test. It was over range (positive) In a way I was relieved by this because it meant that now we knew what we were dealing with and what to do about it. However, GP was clueless and referred us on to a specialist in Cambridge, who five weeks after the

First and foremost, I really have to thank all on here that contribute so much time and knowledge to those of us in need. It is very much appreciated. My basic history: I remember back in college around 1998, my calves would go crazy at night like spiders crawling under my skin. It would come and

Switched from Methadone at 10 mg to Buprenorphine 10 mcg
Good Morning, As of June 2023, I began with 5 mg of methadone, and gradually increased it to 20 mg by August. I reported to the forum in early November, a transformation occurred, with the leg spasms virtually gone, caused by RLS at night. I began tapering off, and reduced it to 7.5 mg and have remained

Genetic test
Got a copy of my Tempest test. My MO says "No actionable results" meaning plan of action doesn't change (Triplet Therapy). He also stated I had nothing to pass on to my son as far as hereditary gene problems. I have no clue what any of it means. DNA mismatch expression (normal) Homologous recombination

Please enlighten me!!!
I have not had labs since 2023 and needed new RX. The following are results from 4/11 at which time I had not taken any thyroid meds for one week. I had really been concerned about the possibility of heart issues due to over 6 months of extreme fatigue, inability to do even light excercise, shortness

What causes subclinical hypothyroidism?
My brief history: Diagnosed subclincal last year and have felt persistently awful on all doses of levo (25-75mcg) and 75 pushed my t4 slightly too high. The side effects of it have been debilitating and in many ways I feel worse taking it. 25mcg puts my t4 at around 18 which seemed high for a tiny dose
