PMR, tapering prednisone and methotrexate
At age 74, I was diagnosed with PMR and put on 20 mg prednisone. Now also on methotrexate 10 mg and 11 mg prednisone. Slowly reducing prednisone dose. MTX is supposed to help me get off prednisone. Has that worked for anyone? Has anyone on these drugs had the covid antibody test to see if you have any

Why do you need cholesterol?
This was copied from an email I got so don’t go shooting the messenger if you don’t agree :). “I have been trying for years, decades actually, to raise my cholesterol. Finally after a more significant (call it strict if you like) change in diet, it’s happening and that’s a good thing. You see, low cholesterol

Anyone tried vitamin A oil for sensitivity control after circumcision?
I was wondering if vitamin a oil can be applied for faster sensitivity control. Because Vit A promotes keratin.

Guys. I have hypothyroidism on a cellular level - meaning it is not primary, not secondary, but underactive/unresponsive within the cells. TSH normal, low- end of range t4 and t3. Both levothyroxine and Armour have increased my symptoms and made me very ill as they are not making it into the cells. Endocrinologists

Good morning all. So after trying Probiotics a while ago without any improvement, (thank you Nackapan!!) my partner ordered a hair sample test for me. It shows a Streptomyces and Thermophilus imbalance. Does this mean I should percivere with probiotics? Also. It shows low Vitamin A, low vitamin B1 and

Fat soluble vitamins
I have read that the more advanced cases of PBC have more problems with fat soluble absorption. I haven't been diagnosed yet but I have been living with low vitamin absorption for probably 20 years. The sublingual d vitamin (you just put the drops on the tongue.) is a great way to get vitamin d in winter

Long-term balanitis and regrets after biopsy
Hi all, I am 32 and I have balanitis (some inflamation only on the glans) for 5 or slightly more years. I am uncut. And things have always been alright for me. When it appeared for the first time I did all the possible test - everything was ok. At that point back then my immunologist and my urologist

How to use liver capsules to avoid too much vit A?
Does anyone know how to take liver capsules (ovine) without raising vit A levels too much? It is not recommended to eat liver daily but rather once a week, but how do I know how to dose liver capsules? My doctor suggested I try liver capsules after I failed to get my ferritin levels up even on prescription

Baby and vitamins
Quick question please. I am wondering if I need to give my 6 month old vitamins. He has always in bottle fed but we are Indian and I know Indian people don't normally absorb enough vitamin D. The advice seems to be vitamin A, C and D. What did everyone else do?

Anyone else suspect hypothyroidism for the cause of heavy periods, fibroids, dysmenorrhea and menorrhagia?
I,ve got my first proper gynae appointment on Monday, after suffering from extremely heavy periods, dysmenorrhea since my cycle changed last February. I became severely anaemic as I was losing so much blood, with longer periods and less time in between them (went from regular 28 days to 10-14) I have
