Endo pregnancy c section or vaginal birth ?

hi ladies any one with severe endo and adenymosis?

Wondering if you went for a vaginal birth or c section .

Iv had 2 major surgery one keyhole and the other laparotomy so my abdominal area is full of scaring and also had a bowel resection .

I dreading birth naturally as I have lots of medical trauma and I really don’t need any additional health problems due to birthing naturally .

Doctors said they don’t recommend but have booked me in c section as I requested.

Just looking to hear other peoples experiences .

Hi there. Congratulations on your pregnancy. I’m sorry to hear about your medical issues. I didn’t have any complications during my pregnancy but because I had previous losses (relatively early in my pregnancies) I wanted my little boy to be delivered safely and without any complications. I requested a c-section and this was respected by my consultant. I had a c-section which was quick and I was up and about a couple of days later. I didn’t need pain relief after 5/6 days. Also most importantly my little boy arrived safely and was healthy. I wish you the best of luck. X

I had endo for years and gynae issues and a pain condition for as long as I can remember - can barely manage tampons so the idea of a vaginal birth and all that goes with it was a no for me. My symptomatic endo had apparently gone by the time I had my first pregnancy but I still couldn't even have a vaginal exam as it was too painful. That and I had a huge baby and the consultant said it was likely to be an emergency c-section which he said was the worst option. So I had an elective that time and so glad I did as baby got stuck and they needed to pull her out with forceps anyway. Second time I had complete placenta previa and my waters broke at 28 weeks so the choice was taken away from me. Both times the procedure was quick, relaxed and although I wouldn't describe it as pleasant, it was as calm as could be, despite complications. In terms of my recovery, I was up and about both times within a few hours, discharged within about 18 hours and recovery was fine - off pain meds within a couple of days. I think that a lot of women have different experiences and both vaginal and c-section births can be traumatic and have a long recovery. I just scared myself before my first by reading c-section horror stories online and wanted you to know it isn't always like that. Hopefully someone with severe endo or adenomyosis can respond too as no-one ever mentioned endo to me as relevant to choice of birth. Is there a specialist gynae team at your hospital you could speak to? It's just sometimes the ones overseeing your maternity and birth aren't necessarily the same as the ones who deal with endo and related conditions and it sounds like you could benefit from specialist advice.
