Mitral valve prolapse, regurgitation, annular disjunction & fibrosis
Hi, I was diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse 3years ago after being admitted to hospital with an arythmia and heart failure (dilated cardiomyopathy) with an EF of 30%. With medication, my EF improved to normal (58%).A subsequent MRI showed a small scar in the inferior lateral wall. At the time, they

Liothyronine over or under.
Is it possible that too much liothyronine may stall weight loss please. I have been on liothyronine only 60mcg daily for at least ten years it was 80 before that. I suffered two mini strokes in July and was given a blood thinner told to stay active and lose weight and despite strict low carb walking

Covid Apixaban and Awful Nosebleed
I am 7 days post Covid and have felt well as just like nasty cold for the last 3 days although still positive. However after a sleepless night I was just lying in bed when started a nosebleed for no reason as nose stopped running days ago. I then noticed that I kept swallowing stuff so sat up in case

Statins and ET
Hi lovely people. My GP has recommended I start taking statins. I emailed the specialist nurse and she has replied saying the GP will have taken everything into account. I have ET and take hydroxy and blood thinners. I have high risks of heart attack and strokes. I just wanted to check and see if anyone

My first anticoagulation clinic
This occurred yesterday at a large London Hospital. I was seen by a young pharmacist with 4 years experience, and who had been in the anticoagulation unit for 5 months. The decision of others not present was the recommendation that I start Apixaban, rather than the now usually recommended Edoxaban

Four Supplements To Help With Long Covid Plus One More Supplement
It is now common knowledge that Covid-19, at least for many people, can still cause moderate to severe symptoms even after you are over the main symptoms of Covid-19 and test negative for the SARS-CoV2 virus. These symptoms can persist for months or even years, and some people seem unable to ever

Unexplained bouts of diarrhoea - heart disease
In March I had a heart attack 10 days after a diverticular bleed. I was told I needed a triple bypass as stents weren’t an option because of the need for long term blood thinners and multiple sites of disease. After feeling exhausted and having angina for 2 months after discharge it was finally picked

Unexplained bouts of diarrhoea - heart disease
I had a heart attack in March following a diverticular bleed & Covid all within two weeks. Told I needed triple bypass as stents weren’t an option because of the need for lifetime blood thinners & multiple sites of disease. After feeling exhausted & having angina for two months it was finally picked

Stopping anticoagulant for procedure.
I am having a procedure under light sedation on Monday and have been told to stop apixaban 3 days prior to this. Since last Tuesday I have been going through a phase of increased ectopics either singles or runs of a few several times a day. No Afib or rise in HR but wonder if I am more at risk during

Legal action against all this medical negligence... How to go about it?
Has anyone ever tried to take legal action against medical negligence?? I was never mentioned the possibility that my ovarian cyst and fibroid might have been endometriosis. Was never diagnosed with it despite my many years of suffering with PMS and heavy bleeding etc. I was totally against surgery

new diagnosis advice on blood thinners please
I had my diagnosis only 4 days ago after an echocardiogram. I was prescribed Apixaban 5mg twice a day which are making me feel incredibly ill so I haven’t taken today’s dose. I intend to ring my surgery Monday morning to ask if there’s another medication blood thinner I could take instead with less

Do women with endo still go through the menopause despite the high levels of oestrogen?? and medical negligence...
Hi, does anyone know if women with endo continue to have high levels of oestrogen even through the menopause?? I have so many menopausal symptoms yet my levels of oestrogen are believed to be very high so experts say that I have oestrogen dominance which can also lead to symptoms similar to the menopause

Error with meds
Hi. I forgot to take my meds yesterday morning. Didn't realise until I felt strange and was about to take my evening meds at 10.30pm. So I took morning meds. I now need to take meds again in order to bring back to morning dose over two days. I am fine taking flecainide and blood thinner since I take

One month post AV node ablation
It is almost a month since my AV node ablation and the swelling and shortness of breath have subsided. My pacemaker is currently set to rate response with a range of 80-130. I recently started riding my bike again taking it slow for now until I build my stamina back up. I am feeling much better and except
