Been given Macrobid for UTI. Taken four doses so far, out of fourtenn. Thought I was getting better yesterday, but today not so good, still general burning and frequency. Is this typical? Really felt optimistic yesterday, but now feel dismal, tired and uncomfortable. Luckily not getting side effects, apart from slight wooziness, but feel worn down by all the loo visits, and don't feel much like eating. Anyone with similar experience? Might it be a couple more days before drug really kicks in?

It's usually around 48 hours to feel effect but was a sample sent to the lab before prescribing ? You need to have the right antibiotic for the specific bacteria so if you don't get better a change of antibiotic might be needed.
Thanks bantam, really appreciate reply. This evening will be 48 hours. No, no sample, not easy to get to doc, and to be honest quite relieved because so anxious about covid. I will hope for some improvement tomorrow then. x
My mum's uti recently cleared up after taking just the 3 day course her GP prescribed (possibly few days due to her ckd). We think it may have been helped by natural treatment first after reading online that the combo may help.
Fingers crossed it doesn't return.
