Sorry I don't think there is a simple answer for your question. I am sure commitment to change is the most important staring point and you have it. Well done.

I found the 12 week plan works for me in combination with myfitnesspal for recording my calorie intake.

This blog is very good too. Very motivational

Good luck.

Hi puddleduck60,

Assuming you've read the NHS live well lose weight pages and have looked at the free 12 week plan.

If you don't know your BMI, find it out - there's a BMI calculator on the same site.

Then make a decision as to how much weight you intend to lose and why you want / need to lose it. Whatever it is for you.

Aim to lose no more than about 1 to 2 lbs a week (1 kg max) on average, though you will probably lose more than that in the first couple of weeks.

I think it is really helpful to set yourself some 'mini-goals' or milestones that you can tick off as you progress.

Then make a commitment to yourself, your body and your health and wellbeing and get on the weight loss bus.

It's about change. It's about getting the eating and exercise/activity thing under control.

As you do leave behind your old "bad" habits, your new ones will more and moer become your new habits.

Good luck with your weight loss journey.

Well you are here so that means you are already a step closer to completely change your life.

I use the myfitness pal app and I downloaded the weight loss guide and officially this is my first day counting calories .

Maybe you could try doing the couch to 5k programme at the same time.

This weight loss guide will tell you what you have to eat and that you have to reduce the sizes of the portions you eat aswell.I put the link here for you so you can have a read.

Like the answer above you have found this site so you are on the right track. Also like pinkbow above I use myfitness pal app and have found this to be a great help for counting your calories. Just take one day at a time and make use of this site as everyone on here is here for the same reason and you will find lots of support.

Have a great week and am sure that you will notice a difference next time you weigh in. Good luck to you.

Lol xx
