I need a diet sheet where can I get one

Hi lacy,

The problem with alcohol isn't only the calories - though the simple answer is a bottle of wine will contain about 510 to 555 kcal with white wine usually being the more calorific.

However, see also this link:

drinkaware.co.uk/check-the-...

Notice how it impedes fat burning and also nutrient absorption.

You see, alcohol is basically toxic.

Although we drink it very diluted in beer, wine, etc., if you drank huge amounts of alcoholic drink in a fairly short period - I once calculated it to be something like 60 fl oz of 40% by vol spirits - you would run a serious risk of dying from actual alcohol poisoning.

So, if you do drink alcohol, do so minimally and dilute it as much as possible.

If it's red wine, you could do what the French do and add water, perhaps, or perhaps turn your white wine into spritzers.

Sorry, but alcohol just isn't really the friend of those trying to lose weight.

Usually ig will tell you on the bottle. If not just google calories in a glas of xxx and put the type of wine you are drinking in. The first 3 results are usually the most accurate. Try myfitnesspal as a food and exercise tracker.

Hi Aussieblues,

Only today - ironically - I was reading on the BBC news how the French are drinking much less wine than they used to. And other traditional 'wine loving' nations too are reducing their consumption.

Seems water / mineral water is getting more popular with meals in France and also, to a lesser extent 'sodas'.

The traditional wine with the meal is becoming increasingly a bit of a 'blast from the past' for them.

And, no, it's not seemingly connected in any way with their rather high rates for cirrhosis of the liver. It's just a matter of fashion and younger people don't seem to think it's worth forking out the money for it.
