Hi and welcome, Ahmedali283 :)

I don't know where you live, but in the UK, if bariatric surgery is necessary, then it's usually done on the NHS which is free at point of access.

My personal opinion is that weight loss is possible without such drastic intervention and surgery doesn't negate the need for changes to diet and exercise. Shift work may complicate things, but doesn't make it impossible.

Many members of this forum have lost large amounts of weight by tweaking what they eat and exercising regularly. I myself lost over 100lbs/45kg and this amazing member has lost 80kg healthunlocked.com/weight-l... I'm sure, with our support, you could do the same.

All of the information you need about the forum can be found in Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/weight-l... and we hope you'll be joining all the Events, Challenges and Clubs that we run.

We've found active participation to be key to successful weight loss and, of course, it's a good way to get to know people, find inspiration and share support and encouragement.

Wishing you all the best :)

I feel with your weight at 120lb you wouldn’t be considered at most British clinics . Weight loss surgery can just be a temp fix . This is major surgery and travelling back from any country by air after this could be very risky . I would chat to your GP or if you have money saved spend it on a consultation with a dietitian and a personal trainer could do home visits to fit in with your times . If you travel for work / long hours then batch cook or prepare your food to take with you as cafes and the odd petrol station fast food grab n go can pile on the weight . Lunch times get out for a walk as even a short walk can burn calories and enable you to feel less sluggish . Turkey , Tasmania -wherever I wouldn’t recommend. Too many horror stories- maybe not always the surgery but the aftercare you need .

I attend overeaters anonymous inwhich there are lots of people who have had the surgery. The results seem to be very mixed with some people doing very well and others just losing a few pounds. It is major surgery and last time I looked into it long term longevity studies had not been done. I am concerned that you would not be left with enough intestines to digest your vitamins and minerals properly and this could lead to alsorts of health issues long term. You should be given B12 injections after any kind of gastric surgery but this is not done routinely. I have lost 70 pounds with OA and have as suggested devised my own food plan to fit my individual needs.

I suspect some of the surgery is satisfactory but as you touch on the aftercare is vital and going abroad may not provide this . You have done so well and have the determination to carry on . It also depends what potential clients present with health wise too and reading the negative stories aren't always clear as to whether these people have other medical conditions too . If it was that simple then I could see planes full of people but the majority of us feel there are too many cons.
