I'm afraid I'm not a lover of apps, this forum was more than enough for me, but this may give you some ideas, Giggles40 :) healthunlocked.com/weight-l...

Primarily it has to be free . So I use Steps as a step counter when I walk and you don’t have to reset it or click it on daily . MyFitnessPal is great . You can subscribe to an advanced version but the simple free one is good . Scanning food , built in diary and basic information about the macros as you put in your daily food intake. It sets calories too low though . You can tweak accordingly.

I like My fitness pal and also Samsung health. But I try not to focus too much on things. I find the more I record or plan, the more I focus on food and weight and the more difficult it becomes. If I can forget about it and just eat when I'm hungry, I do much better.
