Found email re health unlocked and read through my post from 8, yes 8 years ago! I wanted to lose weight and improve my fitness. I'm still trying but reading my old post has motivated me again.

I did lose weight. I'm stuck at 10st 7lbs now. My heaviest weight was 11st 9lbs. My son showed me a photo from 4 years ago and I looked 11st 9! I can remember feeling awful but didn't realise how big i looked/ was. He said he can't remember me being like that.

I did become fitter and stronger by joining a gym and have previously and more recently worked with a personal trainer. I've given up alcohol. I tried running and completed a 5k challenge run but got shin splints which put me off. I have a joe wicks membership and have not used it! I have health apps on phone and look at them occasionally.

So some improvements, just need more now. I will get weighed and do measurements later and take more 'before' photos and get back on my weight loss journey.

Let's get through that barrier Diamond (I'm sure we can) where we don't turn to food to get us through the day.My husband gave up smoking 8 years such a habit I just need to do the same but it's more to do with cutting out the snacks in between meals but I know it's not so easy. FOOD has been my comfort.

Funnily I have just got Joe Wicks App but not yet signed up. I have got good tips from Michael Moseley and this which I've listened to and found interesting

My typical habit is going for something that I know I shouldn't as I have had a good lunch. I will eat a handful of biscuits, convince myself that I won't indulge later!

I am going to post later what I have had hoping that by sharing that I change my life style choices.

Looks like we both have come back with determination.

Ha ha yes I can relate to eating things I tell myself I shouldn't. Today was going very well, healthy breakfast followed my healthy sandwich for lunch. Both portion sizes cut down too. Then my eyes saw truffles in fridge from my birthday and I ate 2. Then had nice evening meal smaller portion and was satisfied. Then went to spare bedroom when my son left to retrieve washing etc and found 3 Henry hippo sweets and I ate them. All day I've been telling myself I must cut out sugary things. My success has been avoiding the lemon drizzle cake in the fridge...i will feed it to the fox for his supper later. I will listen to Michael mosely for tips. Thanks 😊

We will get there. I am positive. Try not to be too hard on your portions. Like me it's stopping the unhealthy snacks. Looking at the fridge I need more veg.

We all know what to do but my social life revolves around food . Too young for bingo but would look daft around the teens bowling . I don’t buy anything that I have a guilt trip from but my social calendar is worrying. I am stuck 4 kg over my ideal . Not gained after Xmas but maintained the 4 kg binge of a week long food workout .
