Fasting

Ramadan ended on 3rd May. This year I lost only 2 lbs fasting for 30 days continuously for 14 and a half hours each day compared to every year because I normally lose at least 4 lbs. It's because I was eating 2 high calorie meals morning and at night to cope with fasting weakness.

Maybe it was the composition of those calories. A focus on calories can be very misleading. Foods of the same calorific value aren't metabolised in the same way. Maybe look more at what you're eating and less at how much (in calorie terms)

👋 & I hope you had a cleansing & uplifting Ramadan. I had the same problem whenever I fast for medical procedures. Lose then gain. I think BridgeGirl is right.

Last year I lost 4 lbs then regained 2. So net lasting lose was 2 lbs. It's because we go without water and food. So in the 4 lbs loss 2 was because of water depletion. Which I later regained. Did u fast with or without water?

For the colonoscopy, I had to take tons of water with the Magnesium citrate & 8 oz. of water with the Sorbital both at specified times to "flush the pipes" the day before the procedure. But then after 6pm the day before - up to the next day up to the hour of the procedure I couldn't have water, nothing. Nada. I couldn't even take my meds until after. For the bloodwork, nothing after midnight, but I was alowed a sip of water with each my morning pills (there's only 3). Until after. I know this is nothing like what you just went through. I'm admitting it, I'm a big baby when it comes to fasting. I don't fast well at all.

I fast for 12-14 hrs only once in a week throughout the year to maintain weight and for other benefits of fasting. Doing more than once or twice has a high rate of giving up for most folks.

Last month I lost about 5 kg maintaining an IF16/8. I read about it in this article betterme.world/articles/30-... and decided to try. I’m very delighted with the result and can recommend you if you want to lose some weight.
