I'm New Here :)

Hello everyone. This is my first post in this group. I recently moved out for the first time and am trying to keep myself healthy both physically and mentally. I am alone majority of the time so this website has been nice to socialize and not feel so alone. I have a cat named Kit and two rabbits back at my parents house who I hope to move in here soon. My eating habits aren't the best. They vary between eating little to nothing or a lot. There really isn't an in-between.

For months I have been extremely unhappy with my weight and my appearance. This is the lowest I have ever felt and also the heaviest I have ever been. Most of my clothes aren't fitting and I do not wish to buy bigger sizes because I feel like I won't lose the weight if I just buy new clothes. Any helpful tips no matter how small/big would be appreciated. I used to be an active person, but my anxiety and depression as well as COVID restrictions in my area have limited my activity.

Thanks for reading, be well.

Hello unspokenwords and welcome to this amazing forum.

I suggest you spend some time clicking about to find your way around. It's easier if you have a lap-top as there are several threads. If you’re using another device I strongly suggest that you use the web page as opposed to the app at least until you know your way around.

Have a good read of the pinned post “Welcome Newbies” and follow every thread.

Here’s the link for the “Tour” of the forum. If you haven’t already taken it.

You don't mention which,if any, plan you're following. If you're counting calories please run your stats through the NHS site to learn your BMI (Body Mass Indicator) and from there obtain your personal calorie range.

I strongly suggest you read and contribute to the Daily Diary and participate in a Weekly Weigh in.

You will find there's loads of tips about better eating, from other members. Sharing your daily menu not only helps you stay committed, it can help other members too.

Good luck I hope to "see " you around.

Thank you, I have not committed myself to any plan as of yet. Low carb/Keto and intermittent fasting has worked for me in the past. I am interested to see what others are following and what is working for others. Any and all tips are appreciated. Thank you for reaching out. :)

Give yourself a chance to adjust to moving, that's a step into a new chapter of making your own decisions regarding what to eat and allow for yourself to settle into a new routine, try to take things one step at a time, if u try to do too much change all at once I find myself it doesnt work and then I'm frustrated but if u decide on one thing and only one thing at a time, work on that, be confident about it and then work on DC some other thing.

Sometimes for me to be good with both food and exercise is too much if I'm tired or it's a challenging day so I decide to not exercise that day or if I do exercise I might have a treat or two (!) that i want but i think it through and make my decision. Allow that uve moved and are settling in somewhere new. Be kind to yourself, think about losing 1 lb at a time, break it down into small goals, it will accumulate in the end.

Thank you, that is a good way to look at it. I definitely make a long list of goals at once and then get overwhelmed. I was so looking forward to moving out and then when it happened it was both relieving and overwhelming. Being kinder to myself is something I've always struggled with, but I am going to try. Thank you and be well. :)
