My progress

I started my weight loss back in January with the aim to loose 4 stone by June, I posted my start and it was my intension to update my progress at the end of each month, but having a busy life I did not make the time.

Earlier comments made with my first blog suggested this was a diet for life and not just until June, after reflecting on this I decided that where I had failed in the past was to change what I would normally eat and then after weight loss go back to my regular diet, don’t get me wrong my diet is fairly health just to much, so I eat the same diet but just reduced the portion size and changed my snacks to apples (which is my favourite fruits). The major change was also to give up bread, biscuits and cakes as I have no need for these and I think they are the main contributor to my poor health.

I did have a number of setback most notably at the start of the lock down when I found myself like many others snacking more and more and not on fruit, after gaining half a stone I did mange to stop this and started exercising, I can not run due to a knee injury, so I would walk but with knee to chest exercise at the start I managed 100 in my first week and have built this to 1000 per day seven days a week, to get a sweat these are completed at rapid intervals 100 at a time.

Only in the first few weeks I found myself feeling hungry and I have also found that I feel hungry just after eating but give it five or ten minutes this soon passes.

Like all people I do like a treat and my favourite is sugar free jelly with added fruit with a small amount of cream.

It is now the end of June and my weight loss is four stone one pound, with a new target of one stone probably over the next few months as at this stage a small weight loss each week is better than a rapid diet.

I feel that I now have my eating under control and a sustainable diet for life.

I hope my reflections are of help to others stick with it and make your changes for life.

Well done you Jusman! I think you are right that a more gradual further loss is to be expected now. People often report on here that the nearer one gets to one's goals the slower weight loss becomes. You have every right to take pride in your great progress and I wish you all best with your now much healthier and happier food choices👍👏👏👏💐💐🤗!!
