Looking for a new way to change my diet.

Hi,

I've tried most of the popular diets to no avail. I thought I would try a new approach. Looking to change my view of food and health.

Hi hope your doing ok. I’ve lost weight calorie counting using a app helps me see what I’m eating. Lost 14kg in 9 weeks using this. Lose it is a good free app.

Hi jellybean42, welcome to the forum. I have been following the LowCarbHighFat regime for 4 wks now. Basically it is the only way of eating that I havn't tried. Am finding it easy to follow and would recommend giving it a go. Good luck, happy to chat if you want.

Have you considered Low Carb High Fat? The food is lush and it's great not feeling hungry? If you google Diet Doctor there's some great visual aids, recipes and even a free two week trial, good luck! :-) x

Hi Jellybean42

1st of June me and my husband started 16:8 fasting and eat a low carb diet. I found this Diet Doctor app and surprisingly we don’t go hungry even though we only eat 2x a day. No hungry pangs or cravings.

On weekends, we do treat ourselves and my husband has now lost 8lbs while I have lost 6lbs. Give it a try! 😊 Good luck.

Hi jellybean42 I would also recommend the LCHF. I could never stick to a calorie controlled diet because I felt so deprived (of food) and always felt hungry. It’s early days for me on the LCHF but what I really like about it is a) not feeling constantly hungry b) not having to count calories although I do count grammes of fat and carbs- the former to make sure I’m eating enough fat not too little! Very strange at first to indulge in foods that have been forbidden most of my life (fresh cream, butter, cheese, ) feels such a luxury)! and c) I find the rapid weight loss very motivating.

You can find more detail of how it’s worked for me so far on my posts.

Good luck whatever you decide but I’ve found the LCHF community incredibly helpful and this community is very encouraging and engaging. Just great. All the best!

Thanks help2020. It seems the most popular way to go. I'll take a good look.

I would also recommend LCHF. I have at last got under 10 stone which I have never achieved with any other weight loss method although I am short and approaching 60 so lowering the carbs and adding more healthy fats has certainly worked for me.
