That sounds awesome. What sort of eating plan are you going for?

Hello and welcome, Bexxsy10 :)

This is a great place for support and information, and it may give you a new angle on 'healthy eating' so have an open mind and jump in. I can see you've already been chatting to others and that's the way to go :)

You'll find everything you need in our Pinned Posts by following this link healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... I recommend joining a weekly weigh in on the day of your choice (why not today?) and using the Daily Diary, where members share their meal plans.

Active participation can give a great boost to your own efforts so I hope we'll see you joining in forum activities :)

What diets have you tried?

The NHS Weight Loss plan is yet another high carb, low fat, calorie counting diet. It's almost certain you have tried one like it already.

If you haven't tried low carb, or keto, I would suggest that is the way to go.

And they didn't work I take it? I think it's regrettable when anyone blames themselves for not succeeding at a diet when actually it may the weight-loss model they have been following is flawed. Follow the science. I agree with Subtle_badger 's recommendation of Low Carb / High Fat. I've recently shifted going on 7 stones doing just that.

Wowzers that’s amazing I’m very weak when it comes to carbs and feeling hungry all night any tips

After 'failing' calorie counting diets before I found that a low carb diet dealt with the hunger and the cravings. I did stop mostly eating potato/pasta/rice/bread, but found that after a while the 'addiction-like' need for them stopped.

Not feeling so hungry has been a key to weight-loss for me.

I like the Low Carb intro on Diet Doctor (there are others).

You need to make your own choice of course, perhaps another calorie counting diet will work (despite the last 2 times not working).

Personally, I don't think there has been anything wrong with your 'mindset'. I think it was the science that was broken.

Morning Bexxsy10

Welcome to the community.

This is my first time trying to eat more healthier and sustain weight loss so I don't know what the experience of trying different diets is like. Others will be able to give good advice on that side. I'm doing the NHS 12 week plan with the balancing calories and exercise..

I've got some thoughts on mindset..

I think don't see it as your last chance. That could put pressure on yourself and associate negative words if it doesn't work out.

As all my family are involved to different extents - it's helpful my 6 year old daughter wants to get healthier. This is because I'm having to frame my language for her - want her to appreciate her body and not be impacted by media or wider images of what she should look like...

So - for me it's eating more healthier. Enjoying the taste of the food (if I don't enjoy it I won't sustain or stick at it). Enjoying activities and exercise whatever that is. Googling how to make lower calorie alternatives to food I already enjoy (switching a few ingredients usually)..

Take care 😊
