I've seen an awful lot of advice on here about lchf diets. I'm 54 and have a lot of weight to shed. For those of you who are similar to me and do not follow this type of diet how are you finding the calorie counting and exercise route? Are you successfully losing weight?

You have been given low carb advice because you are pre-diabetic, Filling-the-gap and it's the most effective way to reverse that and avoid medication.
Maybe your GP could refer you to the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme?
I'm anxious about the whole thing to be fair, my gp has referred me for dietary advice re pre diabetes my heads just a bit lost in it all at the mo x
This is a clear and simple explanation, that may help you dietdoctor.com/diabetes
Hi, I am 56 have 5st to loose, AGAIN, have been struggling to stick to anything. I am a long term member of SlimmingWorld, counting calories for longer than I can remember. I also binge eat, have put 60lbs back on over past yr. I started LCHF after reading the information about it here, coupled with IF. It is something that I havn’t tried before, the information made a lot of sense. After 9 days I am feeling better in myself, have lost 2 1/2 lbs and havn’t binged, yet, so would recommend you give it a go. Good luck whatever you decide to follow, the support from this forum has also helped a lot.😊
Thank you x I'm calorie counting atm and have lost 7 lbs in 2.5 weeks, so I'm cautiously optimistic x I'm going to a diabeties healthy eating class organised by my gp which may also help but thank you very much for your reply x it all just seems a bit odd to me the lchf thing as it goes against everything I know also being a long term member of s w. I have been on the diet dr site and that makes sense so once I have been to the glass my gp is organising I will give it a bit more thought x
Great weight loss, well done, I hope I will be able to do that. It did feel very strange buying full fat everything. I did seem to enjoy the food more, and havn’t had the urge to binge, which is a big thing for me. I hope you get on ok at the class, let me know.
I'm interested to see how you do too x have you missed your carbs?
Also just looking at your bio x the nhs provide workout videos you can do at home. Here is a link to one of them, it should take you to the site to have a look around, there may be others you like the look of x
