Good morning Peeps.

I hope this post finds us all well.

I know we have a few more people out there that are in the Bypass club and I was wondering if a forum would be useful to discuss the highs and lows of living with the bypass.

I would be excited to hear from you,I think it would all help to share the feelings we have and know we are not alone and the feelings are very normal

I don’t have personal experience but a very close friend has, so I have a little understanding of the difficulties as well as the triumphs. She has gone from 17 stone to 12 over a couple of years and is still going down, but like everyone else, every day is a challenge 😊

Hi I’m the opposite just had my gastric band removed due to slippage. Struggling to live without it it’s been 14 years and lost 14 stone now I got told they might convert me to bypass but got letter today saying I’ve been discharged from surgeon. Absolutely gutted and terrified of weight gain and food

I have had the full bypass and I must admit I still am scared of my weight going back on,could it be you just have been discharged because of the latest situation with the dreaded virus,if not have you been back to your doctor to voice your worries and concerns.

Did you have your procedure by the nhs at Southmead ?

They have a very good after care department in the bypass clinic,it might pay for you to get a referral to that department.

Please keep me up to date on your journey I hope I maybe able to help

Hi got my procedure done at Aberdeen on the NHS he said I would need to meet criteria which basically means I need to get obese again. The England guidelines are very clear that revised surgery is good practice if weight loss surgery has been a success and a problem with the initial surgery which it was. My band had not only slipped it had twisted 180 degrees round my tummy. I’m still being cared for by bariatric team !!!!!!!! In light of covid 19 my emotional well-being is not important in the midst of all this tragedy but it’s my right to have views heard as I had no choice to have it removed. I hope your journey continues well. I can’t find a site that deals with life after band removal xxx
