Eating less helps - particularly cutting out (refined) carbohydrates - Low Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) and Intermittent Fasting (IF) - not eating for e.g 16 or 20 hours a day.
I am 95kg, and, according to my gizmo, walking 6.1 km per day burns 654 calories per day. One pound of fat is 3,500 calories - so my exercise accounted for a loss of more than a pound of fat per week - before I ate more to maintain my target weight.
I met someone who lost 4.5 stone in 50 days - walking to the South Pole and back again!

Thank you for this. Years ago I lost weight for eating less. I was young then and more active. I am not as Active due to a painful toe/maybe broken. So I have started doing this again (eating less) and make sure I don't eat after 6pm.
